    I figured I would share a mod I did to make my 2017 act more like a 2020. I bought the shroud from a 2020 (55434-0C140), a USB-C charging module (85532-48080), and the USB-A data module (86190-0C031) from a 2020.

The 2017 comes with 2 cigarette ports so I got rid of one of those and made a custom harness to feed power to the USB-C charging module.

I took the USB-A data module, removed the electronics and made a custom circuit board that would feed USB-A directly through and to the old USB-A module. Adding a USB hub and some longer USB cables allowed me to run USB to the center console to hide my AAwireless Android Auto adapter in there.

Been running it for a few weeks now and haven't had a problem.

Also I upgraded my headunit to the 2020 headunit to get Android Auto but there is a few good threads on that already.

Wow. This is a great mod. I have a 2018 and upgraded to a 2020 head unit for CarPlay. Interested in something like this. Any tip on parts used for this project?

The parts I listed above get you most of the way there. It is a bit involved as you need a Dremel and soldering iron and the circuit board I made is custom.

If you want to send me your USB A module I could get it modded for you.
