    Gents/Ladies,

At dealership today I spoke with a lead tech about no true trans cooler. He pulled up in database and showed operating temps on 19/20 Tundras was as follows with the integrated oil/cooler. Also showed me where it was (round silver piece with hose in/out just above oil pan.

    Non-towing: Pan 180-225 and TC 180-240
Towing: Pan 180-235 and TC 180 to 250

Toyota WS has a flash point of 347 degrees and boiling point of 600 degress.

He stated there has been much confusion of the 175 degree trans temp guideline and that's no longer the case with newer fluid. He also recommended 50,000 flush and every 35,000 if towing.

    Just FYSA

That just goes to show you, if his recommendation is shorter intervals to flush the trans fluid that it must be a poor design change. My truck is a 18 and the heavy use service intervals for the trans is 60k with a external trans cooler. I’m all for PM but that is a little excessive to have a flush done from a dealer that many times in a 100k.
