    2 Questions:

    1. Does anyone know how to unplug the wires for the sensor for the Smart Key on the driver's door?

    2. Has anyone taken off the chrome overlay on the 2020 1794 door handle? I am 75% sure it can be removed but I really don't want to break it if it's glued down and not held down by clips.

I did this, as I changed my stock black plastic handles to MGM painted handles that I purchased from Cool Springs Toyota. If I remember correctly, I had to take the door panel off, pull the plastic cover off the interior of the door and then reach down in and unplug to remove the old handle. Then plug the connector for the new handle in once you install the new handle.

Not hard at all, as long as you're comfortable removing your door panel. That takes two screws, one push pin and then just pull it off. Just be careful of the little white clips that snap into the metal of the door. I've had my door panel off so many times now that I'm surprised it still stays on by itself.

MAN!! I wish I knew this last week. I had each panel off wrapping the faux wood on the doors in 3M and putting in new speakers.

Thanks for the feedback. It helps a ton.

My pleasure! Faux wood...which model do you have? Limited? 1794?

Saw a write up on paint the door handles and since on the 1794 it’s only partly chrome, I thought it was worth a try. Outside MGM and inside a flat black. Would save over a grand.
