In the attached pic of my dash, I don’t know what the switch on the right is, between the far left switch group and the steering column. Not in user guide diagrams, does not seem to do anything. Aftermarket? Does anyone know? Thanks.

That's not OE and is aftermarket.

Are there aux lights on the truck?

eject button? pull the plastic trim off and see where the wires go. Anything else attached to your battery or anything going through your firewall?

    Welcome from NY.
Aftermarket switch. Is there and light bars on the truck or any other type of auxiliary lights?

There are 2 bolts that hold that panel on.
One close to the hood latch and one on the other side by the console.
You'd need to remove the door threshold and kickplate.

But you could pull the panel back enough to see what wires are back there without taking it all apart.
Just use some plastic dash removal tools.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I was going to make a smarmy comment about the switch being the actuator for the cold air intake to only suck in cold air.

    but, I'm better than that.

Thanks, all! I’ll try tracing wires. There are no aux lights or other aftermarket features installed that I can see. I was kinda hoping that someone had put in a switch for power folding mirrors, which the truck doesn’t have, but I’d love to get some. Seems unlikely though. Anyway, my favorite suggestions from you all are eject button or self-destruct switch :)

It clearly operates a thing that does a thing…or, it doesn’t operate a thing that doesn’t do a thing anymore. Or…

    None....
Did the truck used to be used in construction, maybe a switch for top mounted strobe lights?

Do you have any relays or aftermarket circuits under the hood? It’s definitely aftermarket as others mentioned and probably isn’t large enough to run any significant current through it so it was/is probably ran to a relay.

I had an almost exact one in my used jeep that ran the roof lightbar through a relay.

I installed a Voswitch panel in my jeep and labeled one of the unused buttons “turn something on”. Told my GF that switch is for her. Hasn’t worked yet though. Also labeled one “Winch Power”. Told her that one was for her too. That one seems to work even when I don’t press it.

Previous owner had auxiliary lights that were removed prior to trading it in. Left the switch to cover the hole.
