Uneven wear on tires.

    So I have a question, I'm still new to the Tundra's, a buddy (who own's a 2014 Tundra) of mine mentioned that there is one flaw in the Trundra's and that is the uneven wear on tires. Say's Toyota knows about it but no fix. The flaw is that the tires wear out inside out, almost like BMW's which has to do with it by design, cambar. This creates for better traction on twisties. He has a gripe about this and says the tires should wear evenly. Any points of views on this?

    I noticed my front tires would wear out on the outside and inside of the tire. Mostly due to the squishy handling in the corners. This is with me rotating every 5000 miles. I put on a TRD rear sway bar and it dramatically reduced those affects. That along with finding the right tire pressure for me. I think it recommends 30 psi in the front tires from the sticker in the door jam. No thanks, I usually have my front about 36 to 38 psi.
    The only downside to putting on the rear sway bar is it limits articulation when off-road. But I don’t get into too much rock crawling type stuff so it’s fine for me.

    On my 02’ the original factory tires barely reached 19k before becoming dangerous! Put on 2 more sets after that (Dunlop, BFG) and those sucked as well only getting 20-25k each. Put Michelin LTX M/S on and got 70k with 50% tread left! Changed them out after 6years due to dry rot (slight). Put new Michelin LTX M/S2’s on and they aren’t as durable.

    Couple of notes, the 02’ just had new front suspension work and 4 new Billy shocks installed and the front alignment seems as if they made the front tires stand up straighter/more vertical with the new cam bolts on new lower control arms (OEM). Also, I’ve filed a warranty claim with Michelin and am currently waiting on their conclusion. I’ve read many reviews complaints about the M/S2’s. Michelin no longer offers the M/S’2s. Think they yanked that model. They’ve gone back to just M/S.

    Lots of info here but mostly tire life sucked on the 02’ except for the 4th set of tires (M/S). Wonder if your buddy is right on this? My shop corrected the uprightness in the tire like your buddy says. Hoping to get some new tires and we’ll see how things work out.

    I’m no expert but can only say whats worked and whats sucked.

    I didn't rotate my stock Michelins for the first 20k as I wanted to replace them ASAP and didn't care about them, but they wore as I expected.
    The fronts wore on the inside and the rears wore in the center as I had them filled pretty high as I did a lot of towing. The rears were pretty much shot by 20k, but the fronts have plenty of tread.
    I guess I got a good alignment from the factory

    Thanks for everyone's input. I always rotate my tires when I do oil changes at 8000 plus miles never above 10K (I use full synthetic which I will do after the first 8000), I hope to have an even wear on them.
