I have a 2020 Tundra CM 4x4 coming this week. The vehicle is brand new and is Barcelona Red with the black interior

I'm already thinking about a upgrades, and already bought a "used" UnderCover Lux hard tonneau cover. The tonneau is grey, has a couple of light scratches, but was never installed on a vehicle.

Anyway, here is my quandry. Should I have the UC Lux painted Barcelona Red to match the truck, or have it "painted"/"coated" with a black, textured, spray-in bedliner material?

    I'm looking for opinions.

Right now I'm not sure if I will leave the UnderCover Lux on the vehicle all the time. I like the product due to security, protection from the elements (won't leak), and relative ease of removal. However, there is a part of me that thinks this may be hung on my garage wall more time than it is on the truck. I like the idea of it on long-trips. Not sure how it will work on a daily basis.

    Any input/opinions are VERY appreciated.

I hit Home Depot quite a bit. I opted for a soft roll-up because the other half will get an itch and want a pallet of gardening materials that's taller than the bed sides. I didn't want to be removing and replacing a hard cover all the time. Also, I really don't carry anything on a regular basis. I just wanted something to prevent stuff from getting soaked. I could honestly just roll without, but I like the option of having SOMETHING to cover the bed.

Consider what you will be keeping in the bed on a regular basis. Coating the cover with bedliner may cause it to get real hot in the bed.

The nice thing about hard covers that interested me, was the ability to put cross bar tracks and crossbars on it. I was considering doing that to carry bikes and snowboards on top of the cover and the gear inside the bed. Didn't work out for me though.

I appreciate the insight/advice. That is my quandry too. I have a Lund fiberglass tonneau on my 1999 Ram 2500. It is great 98% of the time except when it limits what car go in the bed. the old Lund top is a PITA to remove. The Undercover Lux is very easy to remove AND a good bit lighter. In fact, they make it so it can be easily removed and hung on the garage wall.

If you're good with removing and re-installing on a semi regular basis, go ahead with it. I'm not, and I'm not super concerned with covering the bed. I've NEEDED my bed cover like 3 times for some boxes. If you carry sensitive stuff, then I would do it.

You could also just have the thing wrapped. I'm not a fan of bedlinering all the things. Bedliner is tough to remove and ends up destroying the finish underneath if you remove it.
