I'm looking into under seat storage options for my 2020 TRD Pro Tundra. I recently saw a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksQh10t1Dw8&t=113), shown at about 4 minutes into the video, which shows a wire/harness that might interfere with the installation of a storage unit where your'e required to cut away some of the styrofoam under the seats. This is for newer Tundras that have the keyless entry system. Have any of you experienced this problem with the installation of these types of under seat storage units? I want to make sure I don't order a storage unit that I can't install because of this wire/harness, and I won't know for sure if it's there until I cut away styrofoam.

From what I understand, your '20 will have that wire. But it doesn't prevent you from installing these. Only that you need to go slow on the cutout of the middle one, and as long as you cut from left to right and go slowly, the worst you'll do is bump up against the casing.
But i haven't installed them yet.

Thanks Tag520! I'm less worried about damaging the wire (if I go slow), than I am the metal sire harness interfering with the installation of the storage bin, so I appreciate your insights.

Installed ESP in my 20 no issue. If you cut the other 3 sides and lift up you'll know what to avoid, even then simple to work around. ESP made them now to fit around the sensor and cable, make sure you get the new one. If you specify your year they will know not to send the older version. Nice storage, hard to believe Toyota wastes that space.

Thanks rebmo. I was originally looking at the lockable storage at Sparkspart.com. Even though the unit from ESP is $50 more expensive, I think I'll go with that. It clearly stated on in their website that the center compartment is a little more shallow to accomodate the 2020 vehicles with smart key.

Yes, the 2020's have the same wiring harness. You just have to be extra careful when cutting the foam out.

Jealous of my buddy's Sierra under seat storage, scared to cut the carpet and foam out of my Tundy.

I understand. Just look at the "after" pics of the installed storage units. It helps to see what you're going to end up with.

No shit. I have to add my own underseat storage in a space that is wasted from the factory. I have to add a transmission cooler. The trail boxes that try to mimic what Dodge has been doing for years leak like a sieve. The rear suspension needs help if you want to do truck things. What am I missing?

Yes, the Tundras are a flawed product.....^^^^^^^^ seems you guys should have bought a Dodge. Geez, the guy asked a simple question and now it's a " What do you hate about a Tundra thread". Trade in values are really high right now......just sayin.

I would love the long box but not paying 700 for that lol.

I’m probably gonna copy the member here who cut out the holes and put cake pans in. Total cost $15
