I'm a new member as of 10 mins ago. I just purchased my first Toyota ever. I bought a 2018 Tundra Limited Crew and I love it! I'm thinking of installing a under the rear seat storage system but, am concerned that I have to remove 3-4 inches of hard foam. I understand the benefits of foam insulation for sound and heat reducing but, wanted to know if any other member would advise against this or if others have installed with no issues.

    Thanks in advance

Understand your concern but it really was easy to install. Follow their YouTube video instructions and get the recommended tools. The design of the tray covers the entire area so it’s hard to mess it up. Not saying the tray will give you tons of storage but that is due to the design of the truck. I didn’t notice any additional road noise but I put in some sound deadening from Amazon a few weeks later. Really didn’t notice any difference.

    Welcome.

Installed mine a few weeks back. No noise difference. Easy peasy install, hardest part was making the first cut. Used a regular box cutter for the carpet, then a bench made pocket knife for the foam. Don’t know if it makes a difference but I have an ‘18 and the template is a little off on the outer seat supports. But if you center them on the template it’s not that big of a deal.

    Edit: spelling

Have a 2018 as well. Mine too was a little off but was easy to adjust.

Welcome from NC! One of the first mods I did and absolutely love it! No issues or negatives about the product or install. Little tip is to cut on the inside of the trace lines and you will have a nice, snug fit! Highly recommended.

    Welcome from Texas,

You should be fine, many have installed it and I haven't heard one complaint! I'll do it one day, as soon as my balls drop,

If not needing the storage to lock, there are a few DIY threads that can save you some money. Good luck.

I have it in mine. Very easy install. It was scary at first, but it isn’t a big deal once you get the first cut done. It took me maybe half an hour.
I haven’t noticed any ill effects at all. No more road noise or heat issues.

What???? Did Toyota use a completely different floor pan/stamping on Crew Max trucks??? My double cab, the floor is flat under the rear seats. Its nice because I can stuff my huge work laptop briefcase, hiking backpack and my soft sided overnight bag all under the rear seat and nobody even knows all that crap is there if you peek in the window.
