My truck rolled over to 90K this week. Everything is stock except the suspension and tires. I drained and filled the transmission for the third time last weekend. I changed the oil, cleaned the mass air flow sensor, and throttle body this weekend. When I hit 100K I think I'll change the spark plugs and brakes. The next time I need tires I'll probably go up a size from 275/70r18 to 285/75r18. Everything is good with the tundra. Typical toyota, not much to report.

Get your spark plugs from the dealer, I bought a set of fake denso plugs, I have a thread on it comparing the differences

Yup. Can attest, eBay and Amazon spark plugs or fuel injectors are almost always fakes.
    Dealer or Napa.

Fastest color, best mpg.... I drive a lot of highway miles. Normally on a tank of gas I get about 17 mpg. About once a week I go over wolf creek. For some reason my truck really likes that drive and I usually get 18 or 19 mpg. I've never been too concerned with fuel milage. A lot of guys I work with drive half tons from other manufacturers . They will get slightly better fuel economy then I do but they also usually start having problems when they start getting close to 100K and dump them. I can buy a lot of gas for the price of a new truck. My last tundra was a 2003. I had my first problem with it just shy of 200k miles when the starter relay went out. Fixing it consisted of opening the hood, opening the fuse box, pulling out the old relay, plugging in the new relay, and closing it up. I traded that truck for an fj when it had about 240k miles on it. The starter relay was the only problem I ever had.

Nice work putting on the miles
On the trans drain and fill, are you just replacing the same amount that drains out, then opening the check plug when you hit the correct temp?

There is a procedure for checking the fluid level in the transmission . Once you've done it a couple times its fairly easy. Don't quote me but basically its:
-pull the fill plug, pull the check plug, pull the drain plug, and let it drain.
    - replace the check and drain plug.
    - refill. I usually put 4 1/2 quarts back in which should be a little more than you need. I like to put in a little extra because doing the level check procedure twice is annoying.
    -replace the fill plug
    -pin the transmission thermostat open.
-jumper the obd2 port (I use a paper clip). I think it port 4 and 12 but look it up.
    - start the truck, shift through the gears, shift between drive and neutral about 6 times. The D light should come on for 2 seconds then go off. Put the truck back in park. Let it idle until the D light comes back on. When the light is on the transmission is at temperature .
-remove the check plug and let it drain until it's a trickle.
    - replace the check plug, turn the truck off, and don't forget to pull the thermostat pin back out.

That's more or less the procedure. I always look it up before I do it to refresh my memory . It sounds complicated but it really isnt.

    Cool, thanks.
The only thing that doesn't sound familiar is watching for the Drive light to go off and on. I've heard of guys shooting the pan with a temp gun, getting the pan/ fluid to around 110°-115° then pulling the check plug until you get a trickle of fluid.

Just wanna say thanks for the overview, been curious about changing out the trans fluid. Recently rolled over 45k and wondering how and when I should change it.

Wow! I thought I drove a lot for my 2018 having 65K miles on it. You just blew that out of the water. Glad everything is still going strong.

There is still almost a quart of fluid left in the pan after you pull the drain plug, because the plug isnt on the lowest part of the pan. I used 13 qts last time with the pan drop and draining/adding 2 qts at a time through the trans cooler line. Probably gonna do 16qts next time just to really get all the old fluid out. Wont drop the pan again anytime soon because I already replaced the filter.
