Has anyone looked to see if there are silencer rings on the turbos? If so, has anyone removed them?

Not sure on the tundra, but the "silencers" that were in the F150 Ecoboost intakes were actually there to cause the air to swirl in the intake in the opposite direction than the compressors were spinning. Literally like OEM Tornados

This helped improve spool and compressor efficiency. Shops have dyno'd with and without them and shown no change in peak power.

So I wouldnt just pull them out for woosh noises.

Bigger Turbos would make more noise,, a neighbor has redone his super duty and put a bigger turbos in there and you can hear the whirl from a block away over the diesel motor!:)

I bet that "silencer" on that thing was to smooth airflow into the compressor like a velocity stack or similar. Look at how big the intake tube is compared to the compressor.
