Currently at the NADA show and saw some interesting stuff at the Toyota booth.

This is a bit of a photo dump from my phone but wanted to share some of the cool things.

Mods…feel free to move this thread to another sub-forum if you feel it’s more appropriate elsewhere.
    • The 3rd Gen Tundra has the TRD Performance badging on it because this one has the new “TRD Tune” from the factory. Also has a Toyota bed rack on it but the rack is by Rhino Rack.
    • The new Taco has a bunch of Toyota-branded accessories on it that (seem like) will be offered in the future. Toyota branded roof rack, bed rack, heck…even the foldable shovel is Toyota branded.
    • You see that Toyota will be sourcing several other accessories like recovery gear and cases from other companies but will be offering them as “official” Toyota accessories in the future.
    • Added the LC pic just because it was cool to finally see one in real life. Haha
Edit: And, no…I didn’t ambush the booth people about engine failures. Haha

No worries. I only feel that way because the people that tend to work these booths are marketing people. They’re not engineers or case managers or production people. The chances of them knowing anything about the issue is low and (even if they knew) the chances of them saying anything is even lower.

Toyota is a big company with lots of silos. I can think of my own company which isn’t as large as Toyota but still a multinational organization. If we had a design or production issue with one of our products, I would likely find out at the same time as the public because my role doesn’t intersect with warranty issues. I just put myself in their shoes. That’s all.

As to that rack, I’m not 100% sure it’s Prinsu. I have a Prinsu on my truck and this rack has different components and design. The fasteners, rails, and the wind fairing all seem different. My guess is that it’s a Toyota branded Rhino Rack because the bed racks (on these two trucks) appeared to be Rhino as well. But, I can’t be certain. Either way, it’s cool to see Toyota on the wind fairing.

When I read this I said to myself,....self, why does Toyota need their own branded shovel? Is it to be used to help bury defective parts that come off this truck like cam bearings, turbo waste gates, crappy factory tires, seat shroud panels, side trim mouldings, door mirrors, tail gates with missing paint, melted rear seat back covers, reflective hoods, door seals, radio knobs, flimsy skid plates and tow hooks? Oops, can't bury tow hooks. :D

New Tacoma looks great, but I can’t wait to see the LC 250 in person
