So, since you moved away from the Tundra, what wheels you rollin' in now?

Nice! Pro reviews hate the infotainment control mouse thing. What are your thoughts on it? Also, can't tell from the pic, what model is it? Not that it matter much to me, lol. I'm eyeing a much older used lexus as a potential road trip/DD car.

It’s ok, doesn’t really bother me.
    The IS 350F Sport; AWD
I average around 22MPG, and can only use premium. I drive it pretty hard at times
    306hp

it’s definitely a fun car, and gets compliments at times

Sounds like it's a ball to drive. I'm leaning to the bigger plusher ones. I'm fat, so tiny cars are not for me. :notsure: Been checking out the ES and GS lines. There's actually a member on here that is selling a solid looking GS350, and I have family a few hours from where he lives. If I can figure out a way to make it a responsible adult decision I might have to fly down for it and visit them.

I also have to get over my aversion to buying used... I've just had such horrendous luck with used vehicles over the last 20 years (read my entire lifetime of driving). 160k on it, but I also know that well cared for Toyota vehicles can go for a couple rounds of the odometer without issues.

Good buddy of mine has the GX. He sold his Tacoma for it and wheels it, a lot.

That thing looks pretty beastly. I'll keep my Tundra for the off road stuff, but I like the idea of a road trip car. I visit friends that live 100-300 miles away pretty regularly, and might make the road trip to texas for family a more frequent thing. I think a Lexus or even a V6 Camry would make the trips more enjoyable, and a little cheaper on fuel.

I drove to CA, and then Vegas, and back home- to CO last week. Drove fantastic; so smooth.

I don't have too many complaints about my wife's Corolla when I'm not in a hurry but I suppose most might consider it too small.

Oh, I believe it. I drove from Wyoming, down into SLC to pick up friends, then through Vegas, to CA, and then back the same way in my WRX. I dearly loved the sport and fun in that car, but it is NOT a road trip car. I'm trying to find a nice blend of both worlds, and the GS or ES seem to hit that pretty well. They are a bit roomier than the IS, and the GS is "sporty" while the ES goes more plush. At least that's how I understand it.

Yeah, the corolla is a fine DD, but not much of a sporty feel to it at all. And, like you said, it's smaller. Fat or tall people, or fat AND tall people, aren't going to have a good time on a long drive in the back seat.

Actually, I would hate to DD the Corolla because, between the 4 speed auto (my wife refuses to learn to drive standard) and all the heavy features, it's not nearly nimble enough in traffic. My dad's 2003 Matrix was better for that because he had the 5 speed and manual locks and windows but the clutch was strange, which made it hard to drive.

Ok, to put it in perspective for my daily drive... I drive 3 miles each way and I might see a dozen vehicles going both directions. Nimble not quite a priority for that, but for fun driving I want some oomph on the pedal.

Man.... The can of worms I opened by just thinking about getting a second vehicle again. I love car shopping, or rather window shopping, and so I've been on autotrader a bunch. Found one way closer than texas, with 15k fewer miles, and a model up from the GS300 that is the same price. Then I look at a 4 wheeler or a side by side or a camp trailer..... :annoyed:

At the same time that I'm doing all this, I can't help but think that I should be holding onto all the cash I have and putting it toward building a house.:help:

Good morning, Ron. Hope your fishing luck improves, but a bad day fishing beats a good day at work. Those are some pretty pics you get out fishing, and I'm not an ocean lover. Makes me realize how stir crazy I'm going.:goingcrazy: Thank you for sharing them.

Tuesday for all of you, but today is my FRIDAY! :bananadance: Gonna see if I can get some badging done on the truck, try to fix the internet at home, and get my fat self out there to rake the yard. Fun times.
