Remember my post yesterday of the "Lightening" dbag? The whole team today got on virtue tugboat this morning and when the king window licker said "You must like having the Corolla for the gas mileage" I got to say "I don't give a shit about gas mileage".

I absolutely love it when a simple sentence can shut up an entire room of entitled assholes.

 

Man, you are living in the wrong state, for sure. I hope things simmer down and get kinda normal again, but I'm not sure half the population is balanced enough to handle the real world. Hunker down, enjoy the family, have some chocolates, and just watch it burn.

Sadly, yes. I remember. Though, all I did was thank the mods for cleaning it up. Didn't prevent the snitch label, regardless of the truth, so I quit caring at that point. Became a little more outspoken about just asking for a reduction when it would get excessive. Being quiet didn't keep me from being demonized, so why be quiet?

You don't remember the big hullabaloo that almost killed the thread?

 

Accepting inputs:

1. Keep current job: I'm currently top of the pack, can ride it out until retirement (4-6yrs) and have a lot of freedom. The bad is...everyone and everything around me is bad.
2. New job in Defense: Have to start over, probably doing less interesting work...but get to work a defense project. Also likely have to get my "Secret" clearance which can be very valuable as a post-retirement job.

Generally I normally prefer "new and exciting", but #1 is really appealing even given the environment. #2 is "putting in work" as an investment for my retirement 2nd career...but after ~28 years of pushing weight I'm tired of that.

 

Can you relocate for number 2? A change is often just the thing to rejuvinate.

 

Nope...Daughter is in high school...so I'm here until 2029 and she's off to college

 

My bad memory...I don't remember the details. Just thought you got into it cuz you were at work and dudes were posting chit that would make HR get a chub.

 

School year should be about over. Plenty of time to reboot, and possibly get her a little different culture exposure to. Could be good for both/all of you.
