Yup. Kinda seems like extortion to me. I have to pay them extra to NOT put corn in fuel. Whatever "genius" came up with ethanol is gasoline needs swift, repeated kicks to the balls or ham wallet, whichever they have..

Yep, glad we only have to deal with "maximum 10% ethanol" out here. I use it in vehicles but every other engine I own gets non-ethanol.

I’m hitting the gym today, opposed to cardio with our storm coming in this afternoon - tomorrow. I’ll use the shoveling as cardio:annoyed:

I'm not paying 80 cents a gallon more for 91 so every engine I have gets 87 with 10% ethanol and the lawnmower gets fuel stabilizer in the fall.

Now, in all fairness this hybrid is designed for a better towing experience, not MPG. I'm ok with the MPG it has. What I'm not ok with is the absurd price you pay for it and the added complexity of a turbo on a gas workhorse. Only way I want a turbo is if I am after speed, or on a diesel. A towing gasser should be a naturally aspirated, big ol' fat ass V8.

Same here except I alternate on fill ups in the truck. Everything else gets ethanol free or the highest octane I can find.

I had an Ecoboost in my last truck and it was heaven. I miss the boost every single time I’m towing. I would get one again in a heartbeat

Does the ‘22 engine have direct injection? That’s a bigger issue for me than a turbo. Unless the motor also has port injection to help clean the valves.

Just don’t see too many regular cabs around, especially not in good shape like that one. I’d prefer it to be 4x4, but I’d just be using it as a daily driver and dog hauler to keep some of her fur out of my 18 lol. But for $10k, no way I’m touching that truck. But it’s cool to see.

Agreed. Just meh. However will be interested in the hybrid Sequoia numbers. Might be in on that one.

I had an ecoboost too. I’d was a blast to drive. Probably the most fun engine I’ve ever owned. I miss the twin turbos. Unfortunately, the rest of the truck was a pile of garbage.

So far as I know (internet memories at this point) all Toyotas are port and direct injected to keep the valves clean.

Okay, I searched the ‘22 brochure. It says “D-4ST direct-injection and port-injection fuel system”

    So confirmed.

Random story time! So one day I wake up before work earlier than normal. Stomach felt kind of weird. Figured I just had to go to the bathroom. Nope, that didn't do the trick. Must be gas pain. It'll probably go away. Head to work. Not quite painful just annoying. Tried going to the bathroom again. Nothing. Hmm. Oh well keep working. Lunch time comes and I spend my entire break in the bathroom. That's when I finally realized that something wasn't right. At this point I'm walking leaning heavily to the right like a half hunchback. 3/4 of the way through the shift my supervisor comes over and I am just sitting in the chair and he's like hey why aren't you working. I look at him with a wild look in my eyes and yell I'm just trying to make it through the day man. I must have looked pretty wild because he just nodded and walked away. After last break I make up my mind that I'm going to go to the hospital after my shift is over because at that point in between interactions with my machine I am just hunched over cradling my stomach. Google the symptoms of appendicitis, bingo. End of the shift finally arrives. I call my mom and ask her if she wants to come to the hospital with me. She of course immediately says yes because she knows I avoid the hospital like the plague and if I decide to go there's a reason. So we get there, tell them what's going on, and they take me back. When the doctor came in she poked and prodded all around before suddenly doing her best fox impersonation (where they leap straight up in the air and pounce down through the snow on their prey.) I swear she enjoyed making me see the light for a split second... She asked if it hurt and when I finally came back from the light I said yes, it definitely hurt, a lot. Fast forward through all the x-rays, ct scans, etc. I wake up, and for whatever reason I got it in my head that I wouldn't be one of those people who is out of it waking up from surgery. I proceed to ask what I believe to be very smart and non out of it questions to the nurse. So many questions, lol, poor lady. Then I really wanted to sleep but the oxygen monitor thing kept beeping when I fell asleep and I got super angry, like straight rude after the 5th time it woke me up. Took it off and whipped it aside :anonymous: finally after a nap I wake up and they say, I have to be able to walk to the bathroom and use the toilet to be able to leave. I stand up and quickly realize I would meet the floor if I stood any longer. Nap 2 and attempt 2 I make it in the bathroom and pee absolutely everywhere. Like a damn sprinkler. Apologize and I'm on my way. So there is my story of working a 12 hour shift with appendicitis. I learned some lessons from that. 1. I'm a baby back bitch. I can't believe how wiped out I was, and how long recovery took for a simple surgery. 2. Sometimes good comes from bad. I was able to take a trip to Colorado as a result of not being able to work due to lifting restrictions. Pics below.

Quite the story. I had one similar two years ago. Went to the ER on the 4th as pain was incredible. They did CT scans, and whatever else said I bet it’s ur appendix. I was like well, fuck. Is what it is. CT scans came back- nope. Just a fuck ton of gas in u. Go take a laxative :bananadead:

First and only time I've gone to the ER was because I thought my appendix might be the issue. Originally went to the urgent care for the stabbing knives in my right side. Started out as a dull ache in my back, so I though my back was out, but once it progressed I thought appendix or kidney stone. Anyway, Urgent Care Doc said she was 90% sure it was a kidney stone, but I needed to go get scanned to rule out the appendix because it was only on my right side. She even offered to call the ambulance. :eek2: Told her "Nope. My Niece is willing to drive me, and I'd rather die en route than pay for an ambulance ride."

ER was about 30 minutes away, and after about 20 minutes I really really needed to pee. Had to pull over and try on the side of the road with traffic whizzing by. (See what I did there?) Stopped 3 times in the last 10 minutes of the drive to pee, but only a tiny dribble at best. Figured it was a kidney stone at that point, but the Doc had already called ahead. Went in, got scanned, and I still have my appendix. They sent me home with hydrocodone (Useless. Gives me a headache and doesn't help with pain at all.) and orders to drink tons of water.

To date, no physical pain before or since has been as bad as the itty bitty kidney stones I had.

No kidney stones here, surprisingly. I do drink around 1G water a day but also two cups of coffee, couple Diet MD's, and pre-workout if its a gym day :anonymous:
