Raw oysters are normally served with a red wine vinegar and shallot mignonette. This is the slushy version. Don’t know if they have a special vinegar or the freezing process does something but it packed an extra zing.

I will say those were some of the best fresh oysters I’ve ever had.

 

Who hired the former Ford engineer at Toyota? Since I’m running a spare tire the entire TPMS won’t initialize!?

My flat tire was right next to the truck so when I started the truck this morning it worked (0psi on the flat). Then I drove 8ish miles to lunch and watched the other tires warm up and add 3psi. But when I started the truck after lunch and the flat tire was not in range, the entire system did this:
Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Did this for all three starts before we got home. And when I got to the driveway and in range of the flat? It worked.

That’s shit engineering Toyota. Shit Systems Engineering. Shit Integration Engineering.

The look good, but my stomach gets super mad at me if I eat fresh oysters. Raw, or cooked, no difference. I can buy the weak smoked oysters that come in a can and be fine, but fresh.... I wind up being a geyser at both ends.

I have aftermarket TPMS and I'll get that same thing periodically, but generally it will reset itself. It's more common in cold. I think the sensors don't like it below freezing is all.

 

Maybe that's why mine won't initialize.

 

Mine worked when I got within range of the flat. So maybe cold is bad, but that’s not what happened to me.

 

Did you reinitialize when you took the flat off? It might be because the truck is searching for the 4th one because it doesn't know it's gone.

 

I've heard of that but not around here. Either cocktail sauce, hot sauce or butter. I prefer none of the above.

There's not, but if you remove a sensor that the truck is looking for it's not real surprising that it's throwing an error. If you have the spare out of range and reinitialize the truck will register the sensors, and I think it will lose the one out of range. Then it won't be looking for one that isn't there, and should work.

In my experience, it can take a few tries initializing to get it to all run correctly, and even now a year later it will randomly do the triple dashes to me. I ignore it and 20 miles down the road it will have my pressures.

That might work, but that’s shit engineering. The system should call for all four tires for a period and then move on and function for the remaining three.

If I have to change my tire in the pouring rain all I want to is finish it and get going. Not do a reset. 99% of owners will do the same. Not knowing what my other tires are doing is BS

 

I don't disagree, but if we lower our expectations to 2007 tech it is a little easier to swallow.

 

The shallot and vinegar stuff is awesome. I’m used to it being more rustic chopped and coarse black pepper in there too…or that’s another option maybe.
