Out west, thimble berries seem a bit on the bitter side. And you’d have a hard time finding more than a handful to pick ever. They are also very delicate - them almost fall apart just touching them.

Mmm… those are yummy too. We knew them as “serviceberries” growing up.

I could honestly spend my summer like a bear if my wife would let me:
Buck naked laying on my back in a berry patch shoveling berries into my mouth…

 

One of the best perks of my job. I do have to spend time educating our travel group on company rules and even 7th grade Geography, but it beats the alternative.

Ahh, your area is the region the idiots up here are warning of a heat wave. All the local rags are panicking about having enough cooling shelters and chit. High temp today is going to be 88. Perfectly normal temp for August in Seattle.

Somewhere in the PNW the temp is climbing into the 90’s so time to fly the idiot flag.

 

Supposed to be 81 here today. That's plenty hot for me. I hope my recharged AC works and I'm able to sleep.

 

That's similar to what my wife does for natural dog treats... She'll mix fresh blueberries in plain yogurt, drop spoonfuls onto some parchment paper, then freeze. Dogs seem to really like them!

Son (with daughter in the car) was driving home from my parents when everyone slammed on their brakes. A Jaguar dove into my son’s lane. Everyone is fine. They had to tow the Jag; that rear is jacked!

I did learn that next trip the RZR can stay home, and I want to bring my kayak instead. Not much for riding areas, but lots of kayaking.

They were both a bit shook up but handled it like champs.

State Patrol wrote up the accident as the other guy’s fault, so I’m hopeful it will be straight forward.

Good deal. Glad his first accident was minor. Should help him keep perspective and make him a better driver. He'll be watching for the idiots in luxury/sports cars like the rest of us now.

That report should certainly help. Any dash cams to help you out?

 

No dash cam in the Corolla. Normally he just drives around town. Might be adding one soon

I was just talking about this today, do you think scrubs, homeless people even keep track of the day? Like do they get excited that it’s a Tuesday? Or is Friday anything special for them? I’ve “had” to “work” the past two weekends, so I’m trying to enjoy what’s left of it, before I go on call for the storm that’s about to roll in……..

Tomorrow is supposed to only be ~90, then back to more “normal”
