Example of how to make a real taco. Like I said, shredded beef is also OK.

Yum! I think the only thing that beats fresh blueberries is fresh huckleberries.

yeah - there's really no comparison there. northwest huckleberries are the shit.

My favorite way to eat blueberries is frozen, with heavy cream poured over them so it freezes on the berries. It's like fresh ice cream without the extra sugar.

Yep. Thimbleberries and here are sort of like a raspberry but smaller/thinner “cells” to the berry and the leaves are HUGE. They only grow out in the woods - most people ignore them in favor of huckleberries.

We also get salmonberries, which sort of look like a hairy yellow raspberry. Typically they ripen first, in June about when strawberries do. Then raspberries and marionberries, then blueberries, then huckleberries and blackberries.

Wow huckleberries must be great if people prefer them over thimbleberries. For whatever reason Wisconsin doesn't have thimbleberries so I only get to have them when I go up into the U.P. I'm not really a fan of raspberries for blackberries. They're okay. I can't remember the last time I had wild strawberries but I remember liking them, same goes for wild blueberries.

Out west, thimble berries seem a bit on the bitter side. And you’d have a hard time finding more than a handful to pick ever. They are also very delicate - them almost fall apart just touching them.

Mmm… those are yummy too. We knew them as “serviceberries” growing up.

I could honestly spend my summer like a bear if my wife would let me:
Buck naked laying on my back in a berry patch shoveling berries into my mouth…

One of the best perks of my job. I do have to spend time educating our travel group on company rules and even 7th grade Geography, but it beats the alternative.

Ahh, your area is the region the idiots up here are warning of a heat wave. All the local rags are panicking about having enough cooling shelters and chit. High temp today is going to be 88. Perfectly normal temp for August in Seattle.

Somewhere in the PNW the temp is climbing into the 90’s so time to fly the idiot flag.
