My father in law did the math on the handful of camping trips they're planning to do this summer and, even at these prices, he's anticipating spending a little over $2000 on fuel, which is still less than it cost just for the flights when my wife and I went to Hawaii in January 2020.

Wasted my day. Took the RZR in for service (50 miles away), said I didn't need an appointment when I called on Thursday, and I killed time on some errands waiting for a call back.

3 hours later with takeout to get home they hadn't even moved my SxS from where I parked it. Loaded it up and left. Could have done all the errands locally and not burned 100+ miles of towing MPGs.

Used to joke about the “commercial mud” used for pickup truck commercials. Basically brown water that made a huge splash for the camera and looked great dripping off.

Think I found the source today. Lots of big puddles on the road out to our hike. Wife had one hand on the roof and other death-gripped on the console more than once. A few cars just moved over and let me pass…DA4059E0-9146-41C3-B8BA-521C5AED0541.jpg

    Ok, need some help here:
The drivers Ed course gives you magnetic “student driver” decal to place on your vehicle.
The issue is, as you know- newer vehicles are mainly aluminum and plastic (bumper). I want to place it on the wife’s vehicle trunk but it’s aluminum. Any suggestions to get it to work? I can probably take off the trunk cover and place magnets in there

Lol ya would like to avoid any road rage with some fuck. Also, if the wife drives (I always give her shit) then less issues on the road for her

Agreed. I feel like some people drive out of their way to make student drivers nervous on purpose.

Is it a law that you have to display it? If so I’m sure someone sells vinyl stickers online that you could put on the window.

Nevermind just saw your post above.

No, no law but given she’ll be nervous enough for traffic driving I don’t want some idiot cutting her (us) off and setting her into any sort of panic

Is the back window tinted enough that you wouldn’t see it on the inside of the window? Might be able to come up with something on the inside that could be easily removed.

I ran into that a few years ago. I had a job on a base that required company identification on the vehicles. My guy had a Ford rental, pulls up to the gate , slaps the magnetic sign on the door. It falls to the ground. He calls and tells me about it. He's kind of worried. I lost it. Laughing, tears from laughing. Snorting and coughing. I keep saying i've done this so long nothing can surprise me. And then aluminum doors and magnetic signs.
Sorry know that doesn’t help. But it brought back a funny memory.

Sticky to the window. You can always aggressively clean the glass with goo-gone and not fuck it up later.

I always just park at the free parking at the west end of town. A few blocks walk makes the beer taste that much better

We always used to tuck ours in the back window when my brothers and I were learning but they were made of paper.

ETA just saw your post about the excessively dark tint on your windows.

The second job I had was working at a place that made air conditioning duct work. A lot of it had to be assembled with this type of screw before it shipped. I'd grab a handful in the morning and put them in my shirt pocket. Invariably, I'd have a few still in my pocket when I got home. I just tossed them in a jar and repeated the sequence the next day. I moved on from that job around 1976. I've been retired for about six months now and I've pretty much depleted my supply.

Five more days until the neighbors and I head up to Jellystone for the weekend. Cabin and golf cart rental. Should be a good time.
I have one of the founders of my company flying in next Wednesday, then the President of the company and HR the following Monday. It’ll be a big, fun dinner :)
