You can handle it. I have faith in you.

firing people that don't live up to our companies standards is one of my favorite things to do. FK lazy ass people who don't have any work ethic. I'll gladly run your ass out.

I’d like to fire anyone that gets onto an elevator before the people in the elevator have exited. When did this become an advanced skill?!

100%. Same goes for busses and shuttles at airports. Apparently, common sense isn't so common...

Cute. I got to sit through a safety meeting because my coworker was drifting and doing donuts in a zoom boom on the ice covered fab yard.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I was the one who figured out full articulation and top gear with the boom extended 15ft made for some wicked spins. He was the one who got caught though.

I take a commuter train every day and the same thing happens. The most common offenders are generally younger folk who have not yet aquired spatial awareness.
I try to remain cool about it and remind myself that we were all pretty shitty and selfish at that age. I usually make the situation awkward for everyone by exiting with the same confidence that they have entering. If they look sketchy I just let it go, not interested in pissing off a crazed drug addict.

What's your biggest gripe about the lack of common sense? I could go on for days myself.

I'll set the scene. So last night I'm walking into the supermarket and clogging up the entrance is a young 20s male with his shopping cart behind him staging the scene for a selfie. I noticed there's a pet carrier in the shopping cart with a cat outside of the pet carrier and his paws up on the cart like he is also posing for the photo. So I purposely bump into the guy because he can't see me trying to walk into the store, you know because he's too busy staring at his fucking phone and documenting that he's taking his cat shopping in a grocery store, and say whoops didn't see you there as I walked past him. Yep, I'm that asshole.

Last time I fired someone was in March, I think. Fortunately, I do not need to do that very often

Not the same at all. Getting fired means you can't go there anymore. Getting banned means you have to stay away.

Teams is the sole method we use (and I'm GenX) for off-boarding. It's better than a text, but not much. It does give the recipient the opportunity to mute themselves and scream obscenities at me, which I appreciate for the folks that get caught in a layoff versus getting fired. I hate RIFs and telling good people they can't stay even though they're doing a good job.

It's not. One is identifying the meaning of the words, and the other is defining them.

This is for all you dog owners out there. How often are you vacuuming for the ungodly amount of dog hair. At least once a day in our house and I still find hair everywhere. I wipe the counters every time I'm starting food prep and still see hair floating up in the zone. And we have trained our dogs to stay out of the kitchen.

If a company/department is firing a lot, management needs to be examined. EVERY hire can't be the problem. Management is usually the answer for high churn.

I'm in the technology industry. With Co**d, we experienced a huge spike in sales because everyone was gearing up to work from home. That drove the need to put people on. Fast forward three years and our sales (along with the rest of the industry) slumped. So we have to reduce expenses to keep EFO in good order, to keep the 10k in good order, to keep the stock price in good order, to make the shareholders happy. We have our share of executive leadership problems, but (at least most of) the recent RIF wasn't due to them.

    Uncommon sense cont...
    Just 2 days ago.

We're the first car at a traffic light. My wife is driving and we notice a woman walking up the sidewalk that would pass in front of the 2 lanes waiting for green. As she arrives at the corner where she should push the crosswalk button or maybe even look around before setting foot into the street we get the green. Both the car next to us and ourselves have to wait, as we all three watch in disbelief as she keeps walking along in front of us and into the way of traffic. Lucky for me, I installed a train horn on the wife's rig a while ago. As the walker gets in front of our rig my wife smiles at me and blasts her with the horn. It scares the shit out of the zombie and she drops her phone and jumps back. She had no clue that she was walking into a crosswalk against the flow of traffic because she had been staring at her phone the whole time while walking up. Guy next to us gives a thumbs up and we all share a hearty laugh as the woman scurries to get her phone.

Hell yes!!! I'm waiting for Vitamin Shoppe to have a sale on them again. I bought a couple of cases of Ryse Grape Kool-aid on one of their Black Friday sales. They are good but that Ghost Welches is the shit.

    Tis the shedding season.
Maverick sheds his undercoat in the fall and his outercoat in the spring.
Milo doesn't shed much, but he still sheds.

If you don't have these 2 items, look into it.
I'll ask Maverick if he wants to brush and he runs to the back door.
He then goes to the grass and sits down waiting for me to start..
Milo isn't into it, but he wants whatever Mav has so he'll let me brush him sometimes.

I use this for the undercoat on Mav and year around on Milo.
I remove the collar and thoroughly go over their neck, hindquarters, and tail.
    Lots of loose hair there..

Full pass for anyone 14 and younger. But if you are old enough to drive then elevator skills are critical
