Got just enough sleep last night to realize I didn’t get enough sleep…took the day off.

Per her regular (pre-Covid) schedule my daughter got sick by the second week of school. So I’m resting and tending to her. Think I’ll get started on the truck’s “winter prep”…

We got the second week of school crud right now too. Nasty cough and lung oysters.

I'm just about to get started on another trans drain and fill using the OBD2 jumper method. What's your winter prep plan?

Yeah, we're on day two. Yesterday was sore throat (and exhaustion) and today is coughing. Nothing deep or nasty (yet).

Winter prep is fresh set of wipers (need to go buy), fresh water repellant treatment on the windshield and back window (just finished) and loading the snow chains and some cold weather gear. Need to put a fresh coat of wax/sealant on the paint too...Was headed out of town this weekend but cancelled those plans with the sick kid. Think I'll just get "winter ready" and be done with it.

I should probably do my truck winter prep too. Around here winter prep is checking that all the windows still roll down for when you can finally turn off the A/C.

Yeah. Buddy wanted to ride in one so I was down to test drive since ive never driven a stock one. Honestly, powertrain is butter smooth, and if it was less expensive and had a bed I'd be on it... you know... like a Taco.:taco:

It's such a bulletproof platform, if it got better mpg's we would be buying a '23. The last year of the 4.0

Word of caution for transmission drain &fills.

Like the guy said in the video I posted a couple weeks ago, using a temp gun is not accurate.
I was about 1/2 qt low from that service, not going to hurt it but I still don't like it.

Using the OBD2 jumper method is a little tricky but a lot more accurate. I'm going to do one more D&F soon.

I have a simple “scan gauge” that’s how I did my trans fluid swaps, I actually had issues getting it up to temp in the driveway because the oil cooler, the 4runner doesn’t have one

Ah, no. Usually I'm all for do whatever you want, and can let something go. But in this case, sorry, 3 admitted infractions (and that's just the admitted ones) calls for revocation of said man card.
