Our youngest, 5, 8 and 10, grandkids are staying with us tonight. We were hanging in the pool and the oldest like to wear googles while he' swimming. They were fogging up so I told him that spitting in them would help. He did a hawk. I said no, don't do a hawk tuah, just smear some saliva in them. After that all three were saying hawk tuah. I told my wife where it came from and she was less than pleased.

There has to be a way to dry cherries that's more efficient and cost effective than hovering a helicopter over the orchard

Yeah, that blew my fuse. That’s probably a 60 year old helo too. No wonder @NWPirate is camping. It probably sounds like a scene from Apocalypse Now around his house.

    According to ChatGPT…

Helicopters are used to dry cherry trees before harvest to prevent the cherries from absorbing too much moisture, which can cause them to split and become unmarketable. Excess moisture, often from rain or dew, can be quickly and efficiently blown off the trees by the downwash from the helicopter's rotors. This method helps ensure the cherries remain intact and of high quality, which is crucial for maximizing yield and profitability.

2018 Freedom Express 25SE. We bought it used in May 2022.

Not sure how long it was around for but by 2022 they had changed their models around and the replacements were not as good.

Nice. I did a quick Google and interesting, it's a few feet longer than mine but only 100lbs heavier. Maybe cause I have 2 slides? :notsure: Anyways, looks like a nice floor plan. Enjoy your camping trip!

Yeah, I'm glad I was able to talk the wife into one with only one slide and no couch.

Not more efficient, those guys are moving quick. Some guys run empty sprayers in the orchard if they have a small block.

My FIL used to have 100 acres of cherries near us, his helicopter guy charged $15k standby fee just to be put on the list and about $100/acre to dry.

    I love it.

I've got good memories with my FIL sitting on his back deck drinking whisky 7's (sometimes before lunch) and watching the helicopter dry, hoping he didn't lose his whole crop. He drank a lot when he was farming, lol
