Yep.. Day 3 of 7 straight for me

 

LOL...we've been watching the Planet of the Ape series; sounds like you have too. Think they forgot the Ape No Kill Ape rule.

 

Get it Boyz. I don't know how you do your variable shifts. The older I get the less I enjoy the timezone changes when I travel. But it's one week and a few days to recover and then that's it for 4-8 weeks. You guys are crazy.

 

This week is busier than normal, I usually don't work more than 4 days in a row unless it's OT

 

Oh, that's right...I forgot you're getting a run at OT. I'd do the same thing this time of year if I could.

It has been an expensive few months...could use some OT!

Day 5 of 7 here.

Mine are a week on week off set up. Make flipping them easier to deal with.

OT is nice, but it resets at 00:00 Sunday morning. If I got to stack it for 7 days straight I'd be stoked to work 7 straight days.

 

That's a bummer. Ours is anything over 40 or anything outside your normal work week even if it's not over 40

 

Ours is anything over 40 in a week, but the week is 00:00 Sunday to 23:59 Saturday. Then it resets to a new week for counting toward OT.

 

What weather app do you guys use? If there is an Apple app worse than Maps, it is their weather app.

I am not opposed to paying for an app as long as the price isn’t nuts. All I want is an app that gives me reasonable forecasts and radar

 

The Environment Canada app is pretty good.

That doesn't help you at all.

 

Doesn't have radar but I use WTForecast for the lulz.

 

I don't put much faith in weather apps around me, usually because predictions come from Spokane weather forecasts.

I have a link saved on my desktop to a NOAA map, you can click on your specific location and it's very accurate.

Scroll down to the map and click on your neighborhood, save that link.

It's going to sound a little weird, but the Fox 4 WAPP. It has an add when you first open it, and it's for a local NTX company, but it's free and applicable to global weather. It has great radar and you can layer satellite and temp data onto the map.

 

I understand that one, but I would offer a suggestion. Something I actually learned from my older brother. If you can initiate a perspective shift regarding the job it can make it much less stressful and easier to do the "shit work" for some extra bank.

Look at it this way; they are not paying you to do a job. They are buying your time. Whether they use it wisely having you work efficiently or whether they waste it having you do the work in a dumb way or in a way that makes you have to do it twice, it's the same pay for the time. Don't stress about if they are having you do something dumb as long as it doesn't put you at risk. You've agreed to sell X hours of your time per day a X dollars per hour. If they'll pay you more for a couple extra hours, it can go a long way toward all kinds of things.

 

had a good friend I served with when I lived in San Diego that bred pitts. They are the sweetest dogs when trained properly.

Not to rub it in but the last time I posted 5Gs here(couple weeks ago) I mentioned I thought the accidently dumped the whole fryer basket in the bag

 

I use Wunderground for weather. Once you pick the city in the app there are multiple weather stations to choose from to refine your forecast. They also have radar and layers in the app. Like anything weather related, it's all still guess work though.
