I have a 2008 Tundra 5.7 i had some battery issues last summer truck would randomly lose power and sometimes lose charge. Had alternator tested it came back fine so purchased a new battery. Truck ran perfectly till last week i got in it and acted like it had little power key would barely crank then eventually it would start. I replcaes battery terminals and noticed the top of my battery where post is is cracked possibly from tightening battery post. Could this be my problem?

That positive lead is prolly toast now that it’s broken, it prolly has intermittent contact. You CAN redrill a post on a battery but prolly better off buying new. It always made me nervous watching somebody drill into a battery with a 1/4” bit to re tap.

If you over tightened terminals enough to crack the plastic, you likely disassociated the positive post from the plates within the guts of the battery...my best guess...aside from the obvious problem you’re having, a cracked battery will evaporate the water within in time and you’ll be left with dry cell(s).

Get a different brand of battery. I don't think the positive wires should put that much force on the batter to damage it like that. I've had good luck with Interstate brand.

I'd also replace the battery terminal. It looks pretty corroded and may be part of the problem. Clean the battery cable with a wire brush and install the new connector. Then spray liberally with a terminal protector. I've had excellent luck with these two products.
