$2000 markup on non-TRD Pro models. Anyone else experience this in your area? Granted I’m in Anchorage with only 1 Toyota dealer within 6 hrs, but still this is ridiculous. They didn’t do this before. Maybe cuz the chip shortage?

This is also the dealership that assured me there will not be any changes to the Tundra for 2022.

That’s a dealership specific markup. All crappy dealerships do this from time to time. My experiences with this:

    - Tacoma when first coming out with TRD package. Dealership wanted 2500 market adjustment. I waited 6 months and received a far better deal than what was offered.

    - Jeep Rubicon. Every new generation I’ve seen has had a market adjustment. In 2003 I wanted a new TJ Rubicon and the sticker was 35000.00. It was marked up almost 10k. I told them to pack sand and I’ll wait a year or two and buy a built one. Sure as shit, 4 years later I purchased a pretty well outfitted Rubicon for 11500.00.

    - Look at the C8 corvette. People have the base corvette listed for over 100k. List price should be 55-59k.

I would tell that dealership if they want a sale, remove the market adjustment. If not, go buy a F150 5.0 and take it by the Toyota dealership to show them all your new features.

I’m only seeing PROs get marked up around the Atlanta area (not SR5)

Fly to lower 48 to get a good deal and a road trip back to ak while you break it in.

Give them your bottom line price and walk away. Maybe they will work with you. Seems to be a bad time to buy a tundra imo. But that’s ridiculous

For those prices I'd fly to the lower 48 states and buy something there. I mean, I paid less than the first picture ($41.7K) for my 2020 SR5 CrewMax with TRD Off-Road Package, 4 free oil changes, $200 worth of parts for my truck *and* a lifetime engine warranty.

I dont see the destination/delivery charge. Is that factored into the MSRP or could that be lart of the market adjustments?

The local dealers here are bumping sticker on desirable colors, like Cement. MSRP +$1500.
They don't care if you walk. The next guy that wants it will pay it.

Hmmm... chip shortage, coming model change over with loss of V8, popular truck, etc. are all contributors I suspect, along with the fact they kinda have a captured market being the only dealership in the area. As others have suggested, I’d look in the lower 48 and see if it is worth doing a road trip. I’ve purchased cars out of state and had a great time traveling and driving the car back with my wife. Should certainly be a consideration.
