    OP, the noise is generally normal. “Sounds like a diesel” is one of the most common threads on here. If you have an exhaust leak it will sound like you need a lifter adjustment and will be really loud. Could be either or but we’d need to hear it to make sure. If it sounds like a diesel chattering than it’s most likely normal. Could also be a timing chain tensioner. Make a YouTube account on your phone app and upload your video, and then post us the link!

    Mine is making a terrible noise and to many people not that into cars or mechanics describing it as sounds like a diesel is just a way of saying that it is noisy.

    Considering the proliferation of noises and threads about these noises here it is not too hard to accept that he has a noise and it is legit on the face of it before ripping the guy a "New One" isn't it?

    Searching a forum is just not everyones strong suit and especially when worried about the truck being screwed potentially.

    I understand where you are coming from on one hand in that it is impossible to diagnose any noise from afar and even more so without hearing it at all anyway but on the other hand mocking a guy for being frustrated and while he has what I am sure he feels is a pretty bad thing going on is just rude and childish to me.

    Now granted that this is one of the things I can appreciate about this place at times but it sure is not very welcoming for someone in his position either.

    Yeah I hear where your coming from. On the other hand the way OP reacted to the process of posting a simple video to the forum was extremely childish. How can we help those who WONT help themselves? He gave up first, then we just followed suit.
    I have a friend, and he’s definitely a man child. Of course he always gets horrible jobs because of his “that’s too much work” or “ that’s too hard” attitude when it comes to simple tasks. I try to help him over and over again but after so long you just kinda say fuck it, you know?
