    Hello All,
Question I have a 2020 Crewmax 1794 with 2k miles. When the truck sits for a couple of day and I turn on the a/c it makes a clunk sound! It only does it when the a/c start the first time after that I cannot get the sound to repeat. I have a video of the sound but don’t know how to upload. Is this happening to any others here? Thanks for any insights

Man I don’t know about you guys but this sound is pretty loud. Anyone talk to a dealer on this? I will as soon as I take it in for service.

Mine is super loud to, to point where you think the belt slapped the hood cause it broke or your ac compressor just exploded.

Seriously; take it to the dealership and let them figure it out. It’s a 2020 so it’ll be under warranty and it’s good to have documentation if there are future issues.

I've had a 2012, 2019 and 2020, and they all do it. I think it's just the compressor kicking on, or maybe there's a bit of initial belt slip. I think it's normal and nothing to be concerned about.

Yup that’s what it feels like a slip in the belt when kicks on.

my first truck was an F150 with a straight six and it didn’t come with an AC. It’s an option.

I never really hear much of a sound. Maybe a small one when the doors change direction. But I also don’t go straight to full blast. Sort of ramp it up slowly.

I have the same problem with my 2019 Tundra. I've reported it to the dealer twice but they act like they don't know what I'm talking about and they tell me that unless I can duplicate the sound for them, there's nothing they can do about it. Unfortunately, this is the same sound the A/C was making in my Ford Focus and eventually the A/C in that car stopped working completely. Of course that vehicle had a 130,000 miles on it before the noise showed up.

I have moved on from a tundra due to the lack of a tranny cooler in the 19, it upset me as well as no lockers, however from my studies that clunk is normal from all I read when I had one.

I had a Ford F-150 CrewMax for over 10 years and it NEVER made that noise once. I used the A/C all the time on the truck. I also had a Ford Focus and it started making that same noise and eventually the A/C stopped working. Guess how much it costs to fix your A/C out of warranty.
