Tundra engine recall - interesting news

As someone who has been casually shopping Tundras lately I’m pretty pleased to see Toyota step up (I expected them to…eventually).

I’ve been hard shopping 2nd gen’s amid the 3rd gen engine issues, but now I may be adding the used 3rds back into the mix. Might be a great opportunity to pick up a lightly used 3rd at a good price before the values rise again as the public regains confidence with the engine replacement option out there.

 

What about us hybrid owners? We're still in limbo?

The now infamous cam tower leak in the 5.7 was originally thought to only impact Alabama motors, but that changed too. The quality of some things might be better if manufactured in Japan, but not so the engines it seems.

Fred Haas Toyota World in Houston, TX. Great dealership, buying was extremely smooth and easy through them. Note that they're only open on Sunday during weekends.

 

I am not certain anyone will be in hot pursuit to purchase a Tundra even with a new engine.

Where you been all these years? B-29s dropped them (in eggs) in 1945. They were mixed in with incendiaries and high explosive bombs. Set to hatch 50 yrs later. I read it on a truck forum.

 

What a ridiculously awful analogy. No one is squashing the free flow of information. There are multiple threads on every topic imaginable. That is exactly the situation that I am in.

 

They are also shutting the tundra plant down. Not sure why or what one or anymore to it. Or even when.

 

How many hybrids were made during the same timeframe as the recalled 100k tundras?
