It could be. Dealer stated they found scoring on the bearings from metal debris just like what has been happening. Odd that even after the issue has been fixed that engines that are failing are still failing the exact same way.

It’s just a mere coincidence…. It must be another. Bad gas took out that engine.

What is the word on the warranty of the replacement motors? Standard or extended?

Had a 2021 Denali that had lifters replaced before the first oil changes. Truck was quick and the fuel mileage was awesome. At 90,000 miles started consuming about 2 quarts of oil every 2000 miles. Traded it in for my 2023 Capstone and love it. 38,000 miles on it and so far just a few issues.

I'm hopeful they'll have the remedy soon. I had the reduced engine power message hit yesterday on the highway. Coasted to safety but concerning. Put it in park and it was shuddering, turned off and then restarted. Started and ran fine after. Its ridiculous that we have to reboot our trucks as if it's a computer from 1995.

I called and Let dealership know and they said to call Toyota and washed their hands of it. Toyota said to call dealership.

That's really frustrating. How many miles are on your truck?

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.

What about us Tundra guys that have had a few 5.7's, I even had a 4.7 that I put 375k on before I got bored.

The 3.5 tt 10 speed blows them all out of the water, even more so here at altitude. Yes there is an issue, Toyota is taking care of it. I will have about 100k on my 2022 before it gets a new engine, I am ok with that. As a wiser man says, Boost on!

I replied to a guy that complained of having to reboot his V35-FTS (fails to survive) like it's a PC from '95.

I thought I gave him a pretty decent solution to his complaint.

When power drops suddenly on the freeway, rebooting takes time and swapping to a V8 isn't an option.
I've had my tundra since before it was a known issue. Until this issue I would take the gen3 over gen2 any day.

Dropped my truck off for its 5k/6 mon service this morning (plus looking at alignment and back two windows not rolling up). The guy said they have had a few more Tundras in for spun main bearings since I was in a few months ago. He also said you will start seeing less and less new Tundras on lots. I asked why and he said Toyota is starting to pull engines off the line to build up for the recall work. He made it sound like they were going to take most/all of the engines being made to prepare for the recall and really slow production, but I would think someone on here would have caught wind of that as well.

I had posted my dealer went from looking like a Tundra storage lot in March with them as far as the eye could see to having only 10-12 on the lot 2 weeks ago.

My dealer still has quite a few (70 in stock/transit), but it could be just all what the have coming in. I am not sure. The guy did say they had 12-15 master techs and 51 bays so they got the room and manpower to do a few engines at the same time.

Dealer in Asheville has 53 tundras in stock. Ford dealer has 130 F150's. That's still a lot of inventory for a small market.
