Tundra Double Cab rear seats folding mechanism

Hey All, I noticed the latch to fold up the double cab seats does not do anything. The seats go up and down freely without using the latch. Is the latch suppose to lock the seats in a downward and upward position?

 

There are hooks on the back of the seatbacks that drop down into hooks on the rear cab wall. Fold the seat bottom up to lift the seatback. Make sure the seat is pushed all the way back at the top and hold it while lowering the sear bottom. It should lock them in place.

 

I noticed on mine I can’t have anything in the seat or it will not fold up tight enough to lock. It has to go all the way up to catch.

 

Yep...that's normal. I only did the mod on mine to put amps behind it.

 

I did the mod to allow the seats to fold down and I put my seat mole organizers behind them store small tools etc.

 

Something is definitely wrong with my seats. Will be taking into the dealer this week. Unfortunately 1 of a few issues.. bought it used with 3k miles from Carmax and thinking about returning it as I have 30 days. Wonder what other issues are on my truck that I haven’t discovered yet.

• wind noise through passenger window. When pushing on door panel noise goes away.
• Gas tank gasket is out of place
• Head liner is not tucked into the rear of the cab
• Seats aren’t locking into position and bounce around when driving.

 

The headliner issue is on all of them. The 2020's are like that too.
