Not near enough cam tower issues to have a class action lawsuit. Been covered here already. Good luck.

Technically there's no set number for those. A couple of hundred of them (which I'm sure there are) may be enough. If nothing else, I'd be interested to see how many people actually have the problem.

How about a class action lawsuit for the installation of shitty sound systems?

True.. but class actions usually amount into the $millions.....wide spread issues. Lawyers would eat up most of iteven if you can get a "legit" lawyer.....

Their investigation page was started a year ago, so I'm curious if it's still ongoing. You'd probably need to find a lawyer that owns a Tundra that has the issue and will work pro bono just to get the issue fixed.

Man, this is a tough crowd. OP comes in with a legitimate issue and gets mocked. If you read the cam tower thread it appears to be wide spread. Look how many members chimed in saying they were having leaks and this forum doesn't represent even 1% of Tundra owners. Given that sample size, I'd say it is in fact a common problem that needs to be addressed.

It is a frustrating thing to have this happen to your rig. Even more frustrating when you post about it and people tell you that it isn't that big of a deal, or that is really isn't an issue, or that at least it didn't leave you stranded, or that we are only a minority, or whatever other bullshit they say.

Sorry to hear this happened to your rig. My bet is that Toyota won't ever do anything about this as a whole. The 5.7 will be gone soon.

I've had it on both sides of my truck. Toyota Tundra - the new Harley Davidson - doing their part at lubricating the world.

    Signed,

    Fellow Cam tower leak addict.

This class action suit does have potential since it is concerning 5 different models:thumbsup: It is a known serious problem that Toyota is clearly aware of.

My 2015 pro had the cam tower leak on passenger side. Took the dealership a month to check it, approve the work with corporate and fix it. It was a nightmare to deal with. But it’s fixed now and no more issues. Lucky for me and Toyota the truck is not a DD. It does exist. Lol. Hopefully corporate pays for your leak.

Yes. According to my dealership that I purchased my truck from in Raleigh, NC. Just as long as I follow their recommended service plan at their dealership which isn’t bad as they offer free lifetime oil changes as well.

Good luck OP. I agree that Toyota is not doing enough and since nobody is dying they have no pressure from the Government to have a recall.

I am sitting at 28,000 miles and am dry to this point. But, if my rigs leaks I’m going to be pissed.

This right here will piss me off to no end. Really not a fan of the huge grey plastic around the entertainment center also. I've thought about trying to purchase the plastic pieces from the SR version, which is black.
Sorry about your cam tower leak. I keep an eye on mine, probably time to take another peek under there. I just rolled over 50k

I think some of you are being way too cynical about this lawsuit. If a manufacturer is neglectful in regards to something that can cause a catastrophic failure, it's on them to make it right. Hell, you might even be able to get damages for stress and anxiety over worrying about the issue.

I've bought 5 used 4X4' s from the same Nissan dealership since 2005. They have never tried to sell me one of their new trucks.

The truth comes out.....get ready...After I came back from Anchorage in August of 2012, I traded in my 09 Taco for a 2010 GMC Sierra Texas edition 4X4. A piece of shit. It was....WHITE......I know..huge mistake. Good thing I got extended warranty...Within 3 months all tranny lines were replaced. A month later....the alternator. Those issues I could barely live with. The worst....4 cylinder shut down....crap Ola! I'm embarrassed I bought that piece of crap. That's why I traded it in on my 07 Tunny after 1 year. We all make mistakes...I'll take a cam tower leak anyday..just sayin... but then again my 2014 doesn't have any leaks...anywhere
