Just got a 2020 Tundra with the option of wifi for $20/mo for AT&T customers and $25 for non customers(or $200/yr). the plan is decent and has unlimited data. What makes it special is the Warner Media Ride app exclusive to the car's wifi. It is cable on wheels. It even has On-Demand options for so many shows. My kids love getting into my car now because of their shows are on the app on their phones. This Warner Media Ride works exactly like Plex, Pluto, Crackle, Tubi , Distro TV or Roku. I love my Tundra even more now!

Is the wifi hotspot cooked into the head unit?
If you can get a sim out, you could pop it in a hotspot and have it anywhere.

That's what I did a few years ago when att did an unlimited car wifi for $20. It came with a hotspot that you plugged into the OBD2 port.

First thing people did was get a female OBD2 port with a power adapter to make it a hotspot, then people just swapped the sim into a hotspot.
According to the terms of service you can swap sims to a "like device".
