Same truck, still languishing on the lot a month later; I’ve never heard of this recent “supply chain shortage” where two key fobs cannot be provided immediately…?

I am still waiting for the second fob two months later, with no ETA in sight. Many here have had to wait much longer. Pretty pathetic and measly act by Toyota given the price of the truck, IMO.

 

At least you don't have to wait for your heated seats like some GM buyers.

 

I thought that for one model year you simply couldn’t get heated seats at all? How do you install heated seats in a brand new vehicle after the fact? I wouldn’t want the dealer tearing up and reupholstering my seats!

 

I have been in Iceland for several days and have seen some pretty cool rigs out here.

Today I couldn’t believe a Tundra out here. It looked all stock. In around the souped up Landcruisers and Hilix units.

I am not sure how it got into Iceland but I guess there is always a way!

 

That’s not what happens, it’s a chip or software type install. No one ripping apart seats in the service department

 

Yup, no seats ripped apart , just the dash or other pieces to install a chip after the fact

I’ll take a fob gone over all that other stuff the others did , but that’s just me

 

I trust my dealer so little (actual experiences) that I’m rocking 1 key until I absolutely need to go in.

 

I can't remember exactly, maybe it was some other feature. But I know some GM trucks shipped without certain features with the promise that the chips required to make them work would be installed later.

Now if it was the active fuel management system that shuts off half the cylinders under low load, I think most folks would choose to leave that inactive.

 

My dad’s 2018 GMC Yukon has that cylinder shutdown feature…

 

Heated seats were one of the missing items during the chip shortage (side rant, all the dealers brought in during the “shortage” were Denali’s and high country’s….) there would be a $50 credit (from memory) on the window sticker right from GM.
