Tundra 2003 rwd doesn't have front cv axle

I just saw a 2003 Tundra rwd without the front axle or center spindle. Is that normal?

 

A RWD truck does not have any of the front 4WD gear including the CV axles.

See how there's no differential in this picture?

 

Umm....rear wheel drive.....means rear wheel drive....why would it have front axles if it was only 2wd?

While I still do believe that's normally true, I'm just glad you posted that here. You'd have gotten roasted posting this in some other places.

 

I'm betting he meant to put 4wd instead of rwd. But we gotta poke fun. It's what we do.

I was so annoyed when I discovered that Toyota forgot to include a front axle on my 2nd gen that I made one of my own from papier mache and colored it with a Sharpie. That Macpherson bloke has a lot to answer for...
