My Tundra 2000 is leaking oil through the spark plugs on the driver side of the engine. If I disconnect the vacuum hose from that side the engine from the charcoal canister, the leak stops. Is that hose suppose to release pressure into the canister? Could the canister be clogged?

    Help please!

Do you mean there's oil in the spark plug tubes? Like this?

    IMG_20180407_181848181.jpg

If so, you just need to replace the spar tube seals. I'd recommend replacing the valve cover gaskets as well since they have to come off.

I'm not following you on the location of the leak. A picture is worth a thousand words.

But I'd like to know the last time your PCV valve on the driver's side valve cover was replaced, if it's clogged you're probably getting excess pressure in there.

    Let us know!

bmf469 I thought it was that exactly and replace the sparks tube seals and the cover gasket. But it did again and the only way it stops is when I disconnect the vacuum hose from the charcoal canister.

shify Thinking about it, I replaced the PCV valve and hose because the old pcv hose broke. Maybe the new PCV valve is damage.

Easy way to check: Pop it out. Shake it. If it rattles, it's probably good, but you can also blow/pull air through the tip (just the tip ) to confirm the ball is poppin'

But that just checks the valve itself.

Mr. bee It goes to the valve cover on the other side of the engine. It’s a V8. When I disconnect the hose I can feel pressure like pushing into the canister.

Mine is the same as @Mr.bee. I think only the MA and CA models are different with their 3 catalytic converters.

    Mine is a NH model.

I havent opened the VC's but this just seems like a port that favors the pass vc and drivers side vc pcv's towards the tb.

Front hose on my char canister does not have the port or cube baffle and also connects to the hardpipe over the 7th runnrr to the other side of the engine.

That's because someone has put the hoses back on wrong. His needs to match yours.
The one hose that goes back over the Intake is part of the EVAP portion for emissions(fuel) and the bigger hose is part pf the PCV portion for emissions(oil).

My '06 has that too, on the passenger side valve cover, but when I changed out all my gaskets, it looked like it was just a regular 'ol port, nothing more.

I'm glad my '06 doesn't have all that extra clutter and BS by the brake MC!

This is the only pic I have from my gasket swap for that side:

Check compression leakdown. Maybe you're pushing extra pressure into the block and flooding a seal. ?

@Shakapr , your 2 hoses need to be hooked up like this.

BubbaW Mr.bee I told this was the solution. But tried switching the hoses, they are different diameters and won’t fit on the other ports. Still with the problem.

They are indeed different diameters and that's the reason they don't fit properly. Your 3/8 ' hose B has been improperly placed on a 9/16" adapter A at valve cover, which enlarged it and will be loosey goosey on the 3/8 Air Hose box in it's proper place..

Mr Bee's 2002 Air Hose box and your 2000 Air Hose box are the same Toyota part #...2000-2002 Toyota Tundra Air Hose 17880-50040 | Toyota Parts (mcgeorgetoyota.com)

You have only a few choices...
    1) use hoses you have and synch hose A properly to air hose box with wire tie. The 9/16" Hose A should still fit properly into it's proper place to the valve cover.
    2) Go to your local Napa or wherever and get new proper hose sizes
    3) order new OEM hoses
    4) leave like is and continue to suffer consequences

The connections that are wrong are on the passenger side by air filter. The pic above the post you just made is the way your hoses on Passenger side needs to be.

You’re showing hoses on drivers side

We can’t quite see the front of the engine in your pics, but it looks like the fat hose is just looped over to where the skinny hose should be. Try moving the hoses around to match the other examples on here.

Also, what’s with the sealant around the coils?
