Hi. I recently purchased a black 2016 with the TSS package. I noticed the black wheels had white streaks and asked the dealer about it. He suggested that I paint them or replace them. Does anyone have any recommendations on if I can clean these off somehow (have tried regular soap, wheel cleaner, scrubbing with a wire brush), paint them black, or just be better off replacing. Thanks for any input.

Looks like someone may have used a cleaner that didn’t play nice with the paint. I’m no detailed.. so sadly I’m of no help here...

    Wow, those look like crap.

Yes paint them. Make sure you do good prep, it's even more important than the paint.

    Welcome from NY.

    I would powder coat them.

Well if you "scrubbed them with a wire brush" that was probably the nail in the coffin. You probably could have compounded them out but they might be beyond that now. Remember those are painted wheels, treat them as you would your paint. There are loads of specialty products for getting out everything but at this point a repaint or powder coating is probably in order.

I tried scrubbing a small section on one of the wheels. The wheel you see is one that I have not touched with anything.

X2 on @Jim LE 1301 's suggestion. A powdercoater (that seems like a wrong word) will sand blast them prior to applying and baking on the powder. I recently had some wheels done for around $500, but some folks here report a better cost profile. Some of the damage on that wheel looks like it could be road rash as well, and the powdercoater may add a service to clean that up some. You'll need to paint those hub covers with a rattle can in any case; or buy some new ones. Can't powdercoat plastic.

Has anyone had any success with these rims other than having them painted or coated? Mine look the same and I don't really love that they seem to throw wheel weights. Might just get new wheels but thought I would ask here first?
