I am currently working with a dealer who is trying to get me a 2021 cement Tundra, They have a Midnight Black TRD Sport coming in as well as a couple 1794's. I prefer the cement color but I know that 2021 is coming to an the end and these are growing even harder to find. The dealer found some that were inbound to other dealers and is trying to work out a deal to get one. The 1st choice is loaded with options such as, TRD off road package, SR5 Upgrade package, convenience packs, all weather mats, TRD Dual exhaust, spray in bed liner, predator steps, remote tailgate, blackout emblems overlays and more... There are actually 2 available that are very similar. There are a couple more that have less options as well.
While Cement is my preferred color, I really like some of the options the sport has such as, the hood scoop, the painted bumper caps and grill surround and the sway bars. I know this can be added to any model, but it comes at a price and time. The Black Sport is about $2000 +/- cheaper than the TRD off road that has a lot of options. I plan on asking the dealer to see if any Sport models are available in the cement color today.
What's your opinion on the Midnight black? I know this will be much harder to keep clean and show any and all defects and damage more than the cement color.
I don't want a 2022 since they are not bringing back the V8 and I don't want to lose the opportunity to get a 2021.
Should I wait and see what the dealer can do or settle for the midnight black?

    Welcome from NY.

If you really want a cement Tundra keep searching other dealerships. It's out there.

Everyone should own a black vehicle… once! Some folks love black and to those folks, there is no other color… black is stunning when first cleaned and polished. Saw a black Ford Rapture in black a few days ago and the truck was stunning. If you are not one of those folks who have a passion for black, I would definitely consider another color!

Experiment for you… on a hot sunny day, place your hand on the hood of a black vehicle; then do the same with a white. Besides the points you mention above, you’ll understand the difference instantly.

I actually own a black Nissan that we passed down to my daughter. I know the challenges with a black vehicle and not sure I want to get another one. If I did, I think I would add some graphics to it.

After owning 2 black trucks and a dark blue I have no desire to own anything but white. The blue one was sharp when clean. I have no desire for a non-functional hood scoop so the decision would be easy for me. In normal times we would start seeing discounts on trucks going in to new model year but I don't think it will be the case this year.

Just wait for what you want. Or......maybe you'll find one used for sale as someone is upgrading to a 22'. My personal street poll has three of my acquaintances all ready to sell their current Tundra's to buy 22's when specs come out. None are cement though.

I can tell you that if you're looking for a 2021 Tundra, time is running out but if you have to settle on black, black is awesome!

Black looks nice when clean, but it only looks clean immediately after washing. Personally, I will not own a dark colored vehicle at all because of the added heat. I'm not stuck on white, but it has to be a lighter color. Living on the Gulf Coast, I'd rather not be baked in my own truck!

The sport is 2000 cheaper than the offroad? AND you get the trd rear sway bar with it??? Thats a deal. The offroad shocks aren’t worth 2k

My 19 Z06 corvette is black. And I said I would never buy black again. But the awesome deal at the time and the wife letting me get it fully wrapped that was the deal for me. Easy to clean no scratches and swirls to deal with.

I always said I’d steer clear of black…of course I didn’t…I love my my 2020 sport…wouldn’t trade her for any other color personally…pain in the ass to keep clean but I’ve gotten over it and wash her when I can and it just makes me love her even more when she’s shiny!! Good Luck shopping…you’ll figure it out!

They both come with Bilstein shocks. The TRD Off Road has the dual exhaust, wheel locks, blackout badges, Predator steps and other options that the sport does not have.

But the sport has all color matched bumpers grill etc! The suspension and exhaust you’ll end up most likely changing so…if you buy offroad you’ll end up spending money on color matched bumper and grill surround, grill etc so add everything up and have a game plan on what your gonna want and do…don’t spend money on off-road if your gonna make your own suspension upgrades and exhaust

    both 4x4/ 4WD?

Also, unless the TRD off road package also has the premium upgrade, it will have cloth seats while the sport might offer the faux leather already w/ seat heaters. Just another thing to consider.

As an owner of a TRD off-road myself, if the sport and off-road are both 4wd, and have similar options (38 gal tank, etc) go with the sport. The exterior looks way better (with color matched bumpers, etc) despite not being the color you want. As mentioned before the OffRoad Bilsteins aren't worth $2k. You can add a skid plate, better shocks (for more than the $2k) but have a far more capable and better setup. just my opinion.

I had a '19 Black TRD Pro and just traded it in for a '21 Army Green limited DC TRD off Road. As mentioned black is either love or hate and seldom in-between. I won't go back to owning another Black truck unless it's literally given to me. That's just me. I also missed the extra bed length and the safety and creature comforts the Pro's do not come with. Personally I would work on the getting the color you know you would be happy with mid to long term. It's a big investment and be happy with what you are getting. As mentioned with the '22's coming out there will be the trade ins and secondary markets if need be. Good luck with your endeavor.

Seem to be pretty equivalent in terms of specs with the TRD Off Road having a bit more, thus the extra $$. Difference is not too much. Plus it's the color you want; How long of a wait for the cement TRD OR vs the black TRD Sp?

The better question is are you guaranteed to get the truck if you order it now? If not, you might have to take what's available.

In 2018 I wanted a cement, the local dealer swapped a Calvary blue with another dealer 100 miles away. I got a good price 3.5 years ago. I’m not selling….

The dealer has a list of trucks that they are supposed to receive and a list that other dealers have as well.
I have not personally seen a new Tundra on the lot in a while.
They are normally sold before they hit the lot.
I suppose there is no guarantee either way and Toyota could always cancel the order if the truck is not completed.

At this time, used is out of the question. People cant wait for new so all the dealers are jacking up the price of used. Some are above the new prices.

Black is sick IMO. Every color looks dirty when dirty.

White is not a color, IMO. Looks like a bathtub on wheels. :crapstorm:

Trd sways, bullydog, magnaflow, sumo springs
2000 bucks for exhaust basically. I like the sport better between those two myself. Get the color you like better tho and 18 vs 20 inch wheels
