Thought I'd let everyone know about a recent battle I had. It started one day when the truck randomly stalled when I was driving. I shifted to neutral and started it right back up. I thought it seemed odd and then it happened two more times on the same drive. After parking and poking around a bit, it didn't happen again for several days. Note that I never got any check engine light or anything.

I tried checking the air filter, throttle body, battery cables etc.. and everything seemed fine. I also filled it up with a fresh tank of gas thinking it could possibly be a bad batch of gas but it continued to happen. Rather than firing the parts cannon at it, I had my coworker's husband, who is a mechanic, take a peak at it and run diagnostics with his Launch scan tool. He tested the fuel pump as well as a bunch of other components and it was determined that it was the fuel pump module or fuel pump ECU, which is located on the frame rail in the back of the truck on the driver's side. It ended up getting a used module from a truck with 30k miles for around $140. This was 3 weeks ago and I have not had an issue since. I've put quite a few miles on it as well as we just drove from Vermont to Maine for a vacation, which was about 4 hours both ways and it has been running perfectly since the module was replaced.

Just thought I would post this in case it helps someone in the future. If you have a truck randomly stalling but then starting right back up and no check engine light, the fuel pump module could very well be the culprit.

Sure thing. I think it's important to document problems like this as well as the solutions for future occurances.
