    Hi,
Got a problem with my truck and my mechanics can't find what is it.

When i start the car, it display i'm always on reverse position (and backlight always on).

My truck shift normally in all position but, when i'm on "D"drive the truck just shift in 1 and 2 gear (probably cause it said he is on reverse).

If i take off the gauge fuse, the truck behave normally but i lost all dashboard display and after a moment running in drive the car battery drain.

Please help me to find what it could be.
it's not very nice to have a car who just can run in 2 gear !
(sorry for my english , i'm a french canadian)

Yeah, it sounds like you're 1 lower than what it shows. But the truck wont start if it's in gear which is weird. Sounds like your shifter is fubar somewhere.

Same thing when i put it in 1 and 2.

I post this message in case there is someone else who has a similar disorder.

My problem has been solved. Water had infiltrated behind my dashboard. There was a short circuit and the reverse wire burned with the electrical wire of the buttons to raise the window on the driver's side.

This thread is located approximately above the left foot.

    Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the follow up.

Seems this drivers side leak issue pops its head up here every so often. Last member had to replace his entire interior fuse box from a long time leak which corroded the device.

Have you addressed the leak issue? My theory is if its not coming from the glass its coming from the pillars. Here is a pic of the pass side clips where the rubber gasket deteriorated. You access by pulling the rubber trim back gently. I found this out when having my bad glass (due to sand blasting) installed by a pro.

Check out my build page for more tips.
