Truck is paid off

I have a 2012 Toyota Tundra 4.6L 2wd and I want more power, what can I do??

 

Principles here should apply equally well to the 4.6L, but of course the gain will be less.

Supercharger. They are releasing one for the 4.6L.

Paid off? Supercharger!

 

Well I guess technically it's not paid off if you are wanting significant gain in power. Not cheap on any vehicle. Determine the value of the truck and the mods and see if it makes sense to sell it and get the 5.7. At first when I was looking, I would notice that the smaller engine would get you a truck with significantly less miles for the same price as the 5.7. I started thinking and thought well don't need 4wd but want the big engine while narrowing my choices.

 

Exhaust. And or headers.
OV tune.
Supercharger.

 

Lower it and put shorter height tires on

 

Add a Mr Fusion appurtenance...

 

I don't think I'd do a supercharger....But what are some basic mods for a little bit more umph

There’s not many cheap things that will make the truck quicker. But re-gearing can make a big difference. Typically an intake won’t do much, you could try out a tuner they don’t make a large difference. A tuner or custom tune can help but to feel a little better. Long tube headers can also wake it up. Also if tire size isn’t a concern, dropping down to a smaller tire would give you a similar affect to re-gearing. Also look up coolant bypass mod to the throttlebody.

No replacement for displacement on a naturally aspirated engine. Then you go to compression ratio next.

 

get a 5.7 i love it
