Can seem to open the right side of the hard cover. It sticks. Have not had this truck long. Any advice. I am not by a mechanic

Can you share a picture of what you're talking about? I can't think of anything on our trucks from the factory you could think of as a "hard cover".

Yup, maybe added at the dealer. Doesn't look like a SnugLid, I don't recognize the latch, maybe a Lund or something?

If I had to venture a guess, I've had and used a few, and I'm guessing the latches never got any lubrication which is supposed to be a regular maintenance activity, and one finally broke or seized up, so it's not releasing. Possibly one of the rods or another mechanism snapped.

You may need two pairs of hands for this, but can you push the release latch in the middle and lift it enough to pop the tailgate open? If you can, you should be able to get access to see both latches and figure out what's binding.

If one side will unlatch, like ... say the driver side unlatches, while you press the button, have the other person lift the drivers side, and try shifting the entire lid toward the passenger's side. Maybe you can disengage its plunger.

Without knowing how the lid is latching, it's tough to say.

My hard tonneau cover has two separate lockable latches, one at each rear corner. One almost always binds and won't turn with the key unless I press down on that corner at the same time. The latch or the tab it goes under must be slightly bent and just bound by the friction of the two pieces pressed together.

Try having someone press down (or pull up) on the stuck side while you try to unlock it.

If it's got rods going from the lock in the middle toward both corners, it's definitely possible the rod has come unhooked from the lock. The rear window of my old F-150's cap was like this and I had that happen when the rod on the right side came unhooked from the center latch. The earlier suggestion to unlock the side that will, lift it a little, and "gently" push the whole thing that way from other side might be your best bet.
