    Hello!

I recently joined the club and bought my first pickup truck - 2001 Tundra TRD Limited. I've enjoyed it so far but in the last few days I've had issues with the power steering. I just added some fluid to try and find the leak and I think I've done so. It looks like a bad line, is that right? Any input or feedback as well as a possible fix would be much appreciated!

    Thank you,
    Chad

You have corrosion on those lines? Hard to see in vid.

Sorry the video quality isn't great and I just had the truck fluid film coated which doesn't help.

It looks like one of the pressure lines is leaking, but, wow, that thing is soaked in FF. I guess I would get under there and clean all the accessible lines off completely and then try again. Clean the steering rack as well, so you can see if the rack has bad seals.

    Welcome aboard!

@N84434 thanks for the reply! I ended up taking it to my mechanic and it was indeed a leak in one of the pressure lines. He was able to fabricate a new line for less than $200.

Glad to hear we figured it out and it was a fairly easy fix.

Yes I remember having to replace mine. Mine started right after I cleaned the power steering fluid filter. I guess the increase in pressure made it finlly break.
