That sucks. Is the damage limited to the bed? That would be good.

    Sorry it happened.

So I had the huge branch resting on my bed and I had that branch that you circled resting on the roof. The good thing is that branch did not dent anything on the roof.

Yeah the big branch fell and ripped off that smaller branch which was also decent size but did nothing that I could see. I need to clean all the wood chips off from chainsawing that shit off my truck.

I feel for ya, I woke to this a couple of years ago. Ripped off both side mirrors and dented just about everything but the tailgate. Insurance paid out $10k to fix everything.

Weird things happen, it sucks. I had a wild turkey fly out of the median while driving on the interstate while driving my 2000 Tundra. Was doing 75 in pretty heavy traffic so I couldn't do too much to evade it. Luckily it flew just above the grille and slid up the hood. I ripped both wipers off the truck and smashed the windshield. Being 100 miles from home on a Sunday afternoon I had to pull into a Staples and buy clear tape to keep small pieces of glass coming off into my face. Almost made it home before rain hit forcing me to sit on the side of the road for almost 2 hours. Just be thankful it was your truck, not you, that took the hit.

I don't carry it at all, I saved about $20k in last 15 years because of that, this is good chunk of money. My insurance wanted extra $110 per month for full coverage, I have decided to put it on savings account instead and keep liability only. So far so good, saved enough to replace my tundra if something happen to it. But so far I'm in luck... it is not for everyone but works for me

That's a good deal, I'm paying $160 for 4 vehicles liability insurance ( double state minimum plus uninsured motorist coverage) I'm in Alaska, insurance here is more expensive for some reason, especially for trucks. Anyways I hope OP is covered and will get his truck fixed soon

Got an estimate and it’s $1,100. They will straighten it somehow and repaint it.

I bet they just replace whole side of the bed with a new big piece, no filler. They should, at least. How does the inside of the bed look?

For sure, but for some of us 6x8 UTILITY trailer will do same trick without messing with truck bed :)
Or pulling travel trailer/ toyhaller with space for dirt bike in it

I think the inside is good the guy at the body shop says they will put a piece of steel in there and somehow lift it to straighten things out. This same shop fixed my rusted out rocker on my Jetta and they did a great job.
