Just got a 2016 Tundra SR with 40k miles on it. (First truck) It has a good bit of rust throughout the undercarriage that I am looking to restore. Was looking at Rust-Oleum Pro Grade to treat it, any other recommendations. At first I was convinced the truck had been flooded since it was it was never driven up North but I have taken it to two dealerships who have claimed it wasn't.

I would not just spray paint or sealant or undercoat on top of the rust. The oxidation should be neutralized before applying any top coating. There are a number of rust neutralizers and rust converters out there.

I actually found a product called Extend which chemically converts the rust to a paintable surface. I just pressure washed underneath. I was going to apply this tomorrow. From people I’ve talked to, this stuff is used on metal that’s been exposed to saltwater and the reviews are really good so far.
