image.jpg image.jpg Just yesterday I received my new sway bar (type of bar aforementioned in subject line) from #SparksParts.
The chipping was as expected and forewarned but both centering rings have been knocked lose.
    Is this a problem?
    Should I return for replacement?
Or will it stay in place once installed?

I’m considering it, but somehow it might be ok, I’ll find out Monday.
    Thanks for the feedback.

are the rings moving ? It's really just for centering so you should be ok.

Yes, I’m waiting on Monday to call them, I installed the rear sway bar, everything torqued as per the instructions and meticulously aligned and after driving it a week it moved about 1/2” off to one side.
I losened it and realigned it, and it settled back to the same spot so I leave it alone.

Tundra Dude34 has lots n lots of posts, great guy out of Seaside NJ and does it live stream answering questions so you can be Live party action weekly or more. Get him on Instagram and his live streams will be done on YouTube. But I don't like the looks of that sway bar and either scratches and buff marks are fine you'll never see it again but that does not look good

You might be able to make a claim with the shipper, they have insurance.

Guys the crack you see it the paint, I’m just not sure if those aluminum rings mean more than centering guide.
I never had a sway bar move side to side.

It's the shipper's responsibility to properly package the item, the claim would be denied. The issue here is Sparks has no idea how to ship these bars. Mine came with no packaging, just a label stuck to the middle of the bar! To cover their asses they make a disclaimer statement saying they get them from Toyota this way.

    28379509_1842802972446085_6409472580541334189_n.jpg

Well as we now know they're shipped in a crate with foam and protection for each bar, not just thrown on to a pallet like Sparks makes it sound. I emailed Sparks with my concerns and recommendations (which looks like they may have listened to but still failed) and never received a reply, not a single word from them.

I received mine last week. No packaging at all, but not so dinged up. As I did on the rear TRD bar, I lightly sanded, primed and painted black. I just didn’t want red bars! Fairly easy swap but for those who haven’t done it yet, an impact wrench is very helpful. Remove the lower end link bolts, not the upper. After you remove the original bar, the impact wrench makes swapping the end links over a breeze.
I drove my truck for the first time today and was very pleased with the handling. The ride was not adversely impacted and the combo of the front and rear TRD bars really transformed my truck’s handling. One road I was on today is a twisty, up and down country two lane and I was easily able to drive 20 to 25 mph faster with no drama at all...

Ice pick, no offense bud, but I don’t need a lesson on installing the bar, I’ve done my exhaust, rear bar, and had already swapped the OEM empty tube for a Sequoia bar.
My question is; does it matter if the little rings are lose once the bar is installed and centered?
I’ve had other cars and once centered they stayed, but this is my first Tundra and does it matter?
For your information I was for 20 years ASE Certified Master Tech, I hold an FAA A&P mechanic’s license and I have owned and operated 3 Crop Dusters.
Believe me, the only thing that limits what I do is I’m “Old”

Ok heads up, I installed the TRD Sport front bar and I used the lock rings as another member gad mentioned.
Liked the results so well I re-centered the rear bar and placed a set of lock rings.
The results are great, I say to all “Skip The Sequoia Front Sway Bar” go directly for the TRD that matches the rear.
I’ve found the truck I’ve been searching for in the last 12 years!

Question on the front sway bar: I recently installed the TRD front sway bar and I’ve been hearing a clunking noise so I took it into the dealership and they checked the installation and said everything is good to go. They told me the bushings we’re good and the swaybar links were also good however it appears that the swaybar is hitting the control arm because they noticed red paint transfer from the TRD sway bar. They are still not sure how to fix it. Anyone else have this issue or know what’s going on? Did Sparks Toyota send me a bad sway bar?

    Sway Bars Diameter
    Front 36mm
    Rear 26mm
This ought to help for those interested.
If you have a clunk sound something is binding, make sure your lock rings are still in place, and yes the bar could be installed upside down and that can be a concern that it might hit something.

I just got my TRD sport. Brand new with Toyota installed levelling kit. I hear a small/short clunk after reverse when going back to forward. Do I have something binding? What should I check?

TRD Sports do not have a Toyota installed leveling kit. Dealership installed, maybe, but not Toyota installed.

I think this is just a slight driveline motion. Mine will do this if I don't have enough brake pedal pressure applied when changing direction. The brakes may be set up from the factory with a slight front bias so when you are lightly applying the brakes, there isn't enough application to the rear to prevent them from ever so slightly "slipping" when changing from Reverse to Drive. Try being certain that you're at a complete stop, firmly press the brake pedal, then shift. This should reduce the sound that you're hearing.
