Does anyone know if the TRD Pro UCA is the same as other models?
    Same part# or different part#?

Total chaos 1" uniballs are less than $1k.

Camburg 1.25" uniball with heims are $1600.

I'd go either of those routes before I got anything from the TRD version.

Why? I purchased a set of the Toyota TRD upper control arms from the 3” factory lift (not PRO control arms) and they are great. Adds plenty of caster back into the alignment and is maintenance free. I’d put money on them being more quiet than any uniball as well. Don’t get me wrong, a uniball UCA has its place, but it usually isn’t on a daily driver.

    and for under $300!

I have Uniballs on my Tacoma long travel and they’ve been on there for 100k miles. They are noisy, maintenance heavy, and wear out (relatively) quickly.
Will not do them again. Good on a race truck. Dumb on a DD

Hey, to each his own. The TRD UCAs sound like a great option if they have built-in caster. I had uniballs on my last Tundra, and they were quiet as long as I kept them greased. My driveway alone is a half mile of unpaved, sometimes crappy, "road." I've always enjoyed the peace of mind of having a suspension setup that can take a beating, especially accessing some of the harder-to-get-to areas on my property.

How about the TRD UCA's that come with the TRD lift kit. I believe they're made by Roush. Anyone been able to find them without the kit?

I raised my front 2" and can't get enough caster now. I sure like to go with something close to factory though.

Uniballs are such high maintenance though. It’s why I chose SPCs for my taco. Unless you’re doing serious off-roading or racing, Sealed over uniballs all day.

    Just my opinion.

I was in a similar situation and went with the TRD control arms. Can't beat the price. I'm running a pair of Icon coilovers up front with about 2" of lift over the stock TRD Off-Road suspension. About 5k miles on them so far and they've been great.

can you send a picture of the bottom of the TRD ball joint.
Curious if the ball joint is angled or straight.

also is it shorter (from bushing to ball joint) then the stock one

If I was to upgrade the Pro suspension, I was thinking TRD UCAs, extended axles and beefier Fox shocks. With the necessary accoutrements.

The ball joint sits lower in the arm than the OEM one. This is on the truck now and set 2.75” above stock height.

I have it posted in the suspension thread #989 and lots more in that thread of what’s been done. I’m not sure how to share that link.

For those of you that have changed the 3rd gen UCAs, could you reuse the long through bolt or did you have to cut it and install a new one going the opposite direction?

Nevermind, I found this video that shows how to reuse the original bolts:

I changed the driver side UCA tonight and it wasn’t too difficult. It’s surprising how easy the ball joints come apart with a light tap. Moving the ECU out of the way was a little pain but not too bad.

Changing the 650 lb/in springs that came with my King Suspension kit to 600 lb springs to better match my 2WD was much more of a pain especially using my simple spring compressors.

I hung them on my scale: 7.16 lbs for the stock UCA and 11.51 lbs for TRD UCA so quite a bit beefier.

Hi can anyone confirm part number for UCA’s. Someone listed the part number above, but when I looked up the trd 3inch kit it shows different. I’ve added both to my cart.

Called a few dealers they stated the
PT985-3432B and PT985-3431B are a bulk order part number. So if I order there could be a chance that it could be cancelled

PT985-34310 and PT985-34320 are the parts available. But price differences are about 80 dollars more for these ones.

Man, these TRD UCAs have jumped up in price!

Yota garage has them for $500 for the pair but they're out of stock.

Anyone have a vendor with any deals?

Recently went shopping for a pair and the lowest I could find was right around the $500 mark (several dealers through their online parts departments). If you don’t need adjustability they’re still far cheaper than most aftermarket solutions but no longer the steal they were a few months ago.

After dealing with adjustable UCAs on my last project, I'm content with something that will add some caster and allow factory alignment specs. The TRD lift option fits that bill perfectly.

I only found 2 vendors that had them for right around $500 and one wanted $60 in shipping and the other wanted $79.

I definitely missed the boat on these!

Me, too, my friend. But remember we’re still achieving our shared goal of caster correction at a significant cost savings (without having to deal with greasing zerks and an insufferable racket).

I was unable to purchase the uca's today from my dealer. I was told you can only purchase it if you buy the entire trd 3inch lift. Has anyone verified being able to purchase just the uca's only from a dealer

Have you tried purchasing online from a dealer and having them shipped to you? I was able to purchase PT985-34310 and PT985-34320 online about a month ago.
