It’s too much money from Toyota. If you get a good deal then maybe. But you can get a great aftermarket system for cheaper.

I have the Bilstein pro suspension and love it. It’s not going to compare to something with remote reservoirs, but if you can get it for a good price, it’s worth it, especially for the casual off roader. I picked mine up as a takeoff for $1000. My other option was going to be the 6112’s but they don’t come with a sweet piggyback LOL. If I had more money it would probably be King, ADS, or maybe Elka.

But I did like that I was getting something tuned to the Tundra and made for it as well as the springs that come with it. Definitely an upgrade over my TRD off-road suspension. I can hit a fire Road like it’s nobody’s business LMFAO!

Save your money unless you find a good deal on them, from Toyota they are way too expensive. I got 4 king shocks brand new for $2100, can’t go wrong with Fox, ADS, Elka, or icon.

I like the ride in my current truck with the trd pro fox shocks more than I did in my 2018 with the icons.

No mine has the piggybacks. For sure they are pro. I consider remote, having reservoir separate from the shock. You know the ones that have a hose and reservoir mounted along the frame somewhere? That’s why I call ours piggybacks. Since the reservoir is mounted to the shock itself. Maybe my terminology is wrong.

Had the 6112/5160 combo on my Tacoma after hearing that it was a comparable set up to the Pro. Was a good set up but still felt like I liked the Pro set up more. Now I have the Pro Tundra and yeah, I like it more. For the Price Toyota charges though I would go Fox,ADS, or King.

Unless he can find a good price on some takeoffs.

Very true. Take offs should be attainable for much less. I was kind of saying for me, the Pro stuff felt better than the entry level stuff, even the higher end of entry level. I hear people compare the Pro components to the 6112s, I felt the 6112s were a bit less refined.

None the less, take offs would be the route to go to save some cash and get a nice set up.

Good to know on the 6112‘s. My shocks are still doing great but I’m sure someday I will have to replace them, I know the Fox Pro shocks are rebuildable but my Bilstein Pros aren’t. So I didn’t know what I was going to go with when the time came. I was considering the 6112s if they were comparable. When the time comes I will probably have to bite the bullet and get something with some remote resi’s. Because I want it to perform and feel as good as my current set up, or better! The Elka’s sure look classy.

I should say at least, they werent as comfortable on the highest setting. Bils have a range of comfort based off the preload for sure. If they were set to the lower settings it may have been better. Maybe just use a spacer to make up the remaining height. The did an excellent job of controlling rebound though.
