Hey all. New member, but have been using the forum for information ever since getting my 2012 Tundra a few months ago. After purchasing my Tundra i found the steering had a bad shake after hitting bumps. It is to the point that the truck will lose stability/control on a big enough bump. I had just driven a 2019 Tundra on a 3k mile road trip up the Alaska Highway where the road can be bad, and the steering had no feedback. Dealer found both front coil overs were leaking and bad. I was surprised since it only has 75k miles on it.

Found a local guy who is selling his Trd off road suspension set from a 2021 with 6k miles on them. The set is cheaper than buying just the 2 base coilovers. He includes the upper a arms and front sway bar. My question is, does the TRD off road package include an updated front sway bar? The bar is black and from what i found is if its updated, it should be red. Similar to how the TRD rear sway bar is.

So if its the same then I wont waste my time installing a bar that has no benefit. Appreciate any information.

Same FSB. Don’t waste time changing IMO.

If the price is right, you can swap out the shocks/coilovers which would be a slight upgrade over the base tundra shocks.

Like AZBoarHauler said, don’t bother with the FSB or arms.

That is what i was thinking. Appreciate it. Yeah Im getting all 4 corners, plus a-arms for only $400. Dealer wants $480 for just the base fronts. It's an easy decision for me since im sure my rears aren't far behind.

Welcome aboard sir. There are several different off road packages for Toyotas. The TRD off-road is like a Z71 package for a Chevy. Shocks, skid plate and stickers at most. The red sway bar you are thinking of is on the next level which would be the TRD PRO. It’s really it’s own trim line, not an add on package. Upgraded suspension with 2” lift in the front and nicer coil over kit like Bilstein or Fox depending on year. The TRD off road package features yellow Bilsteins, basically 4600’s. Mild upgrade over stock black shocks. Good shocks, but nothing like the pro kit.
