So I have an opportunity to purchase the TRD CAI for my MY24. I can get a good deal on it at ~$750 out the door in parts and am able to arrange the reflash of the ECU for a fair price. I question is it worth it really?? Is the juice worth the squeeze as they say lol. It would be cool to have it and MAYBE increase HP or fuel economy. Anyone have any drawbacks to a CAI…the biggest drawback for my on this particular setup is that extra filters are NOT available from Toyota(yet). Cleaning filters and having to wait for them to dry sucks. All opinions are welcome

Yes it is definitely worth it if you want extra hp and covered by warranty. I still love hearing the turbos and the power/torque is lower in the powerband. I went the same route as you and absolutely love it. I haven't had to clean them yet but plan on doing it when I have a bunch of other stuff to do while they dry.

Came with my pro and loving it.
Don’t forget the ECU reflash requires 91 octane.

Id get a JB4 for that kinda money. Bigger gains and can go back to stock if necessary

I have never heard of JB4... Do you happen to know the key differences between the 2?

JB4 is a tuner box. Way more power than what the intake/tuning provides and youre not locked into 91 octane.

What is your truck build date? Early MY24 builds cannot get the flash I'm told.

there’s updates to the ECUs apparently. You may want to see if your dealer is willing to update it then flash it

All signs point to yes. I thought there was a stop sale on the intake.

There is...its on what Toyota call a MAC release. But like the lift kits, if a dealer has one in there inventory, Toyota can not stop them from selling it

And actually one more question to ask. Do you think it is a big difference from the CAI and just the drop in TRD filters?

Had the TRD CAI and ECU flash done today…..SUPER early impressions are that I’m impressed lol. The throttle response is crazy, I love hearing the turbos lol and I legitimately feel the truck has more power. Thank you all for your input
