My 06 Tundra suddenly stopped shifting into first gear and check engine light came on. Said it was s1 solenoid. Replaced still not shifting into first. Checked all electrical plugs. Solenoid connection plug had oxidation was dirty? Suspect it might be the problem? Anyone else experience this issue? Did it fix the problem?

Pretty common problem. The internal trans harness is replaceable and typically if you’ve got that code you’ll need to replace this harness. I believe it’s around 75 bucks and the transmission pan has to be removed. As for the wire harness outside the trans some contact cleaner will usually clean it up decently. Check for broken pins in said connector. It’s possible a wire or two will need to be repaired. On reassembly di electric grease does wonders to prevent this from happening again
