I have a 2021 Tundra. After sitting for a week? when I start the engine and put the transmission in reverse the transmission feels slow to engage almost like slipping. Sometime in forward. After it engages transmission works flawlessly. If I start it everyday it engages immediately. anyone else have this symptom?

Seems like it's just your transmission building line pressure after sitting for awhile. It's normal. Do you let your truck warm up at when it sits for awhile, or do you just crank it go?

I can't say that I've ever let mine sit for a week but do select reverse and back it out of the garage ASAP to keep fumes to a minimum. Normal operation for me.

Mine will easily sit for 6 plus days at times. I only use to tow boat or jet ski so in-between it sits. I am not to worried about it just a strange characteristic. My wife 4runner sits for days also but she hasn't ever said anything to me delayed engagement. On the flip side my old 2001 Lexus gs300 never has any downtime. Well worse case scenario I still have a lot of warranty left.

I know this is an old thread but I let my truck sit about a month at a time sometimes a bit longer. I use my commuter to go to work and use my tundra Typically to go off road or tow my boat. I have to let it warm up for at least 10 secs. Sometimes I start it and want to back up right away to move cars around and it will act like it slips. Only happens when I let it sit for long periods of times. Otherwise runs perfect, 2014 5.7
